here's the thing. gain staging* is important. lots of dials and buttons is fun c: until it's wayy too much for your needs.

day-to-day all i want is per-app output level, stereo outs 1+2 and 3+4 levels, and the physical output dial on my interface.

in a music context or other setup involving more complex routing yeah i need the fine control. but not for watching funny videos on the internets. problem is i do both

*for anyone unfamiliar, gain staging refers to adjusting the input level (gain) at different stages along a chain (eg instrument/mic -> preamp -> input track in your DAW (recording software)). it loosely applies to an output chain, and often the output level of steps in that chain are also includes alongside input levels

But unfortunately you have to own Reaktor 5 or higher to run it. Although Reaktor is awesome it also costs $$.
