Walt Disney World has the "Hall of Presidents" attraction which has been non-stop controversy and hilarity ever since Trump got elected; the imagineers seemed to take their sweet time creating his animatronic doppleganger for the show, and when they finally did (over a year after he took office), Trump fans said the likeness was horrible and even claimed Disney tried to make him look like Hillary, lol (my theory is they - like almost everyone else - assumed she would win and had already started her robot, merely repurposing it when he somehow pulled the upset).
Regardless of their intentions, the result was damn funny and fitting of The Donald's massive repugnance. They made his hands realistically tiny and put him in an ill-fitting suit just like the cheap drapery the real Trump loved to wear.
Meanwhile the protests began by the numerous Disney fans who were definitely not Trump fans. Many petitions circulated to try and pressure his removal, especially during his impeachment trials. Chants of "lock him up" and "impeached" were common when the robot Prez would give his speech. Disney put up a barrier when they got worried people might jump up on the stage and deface mecha-Trump (no one attempted it). Finally when he was voted out of office and they shut down the show to reflect the change of leadership it seemed that the attraction might go back to being one of the least controversial (and frankly, boring) at Disney World.
But after the January 6th assault on the Capitol, the protests against the Trump cyborg began anew. People wanted him gone. Disney seemed to close the attraction down for an extremely lengthy amount of time (the pandemic didn't help) and when it finally re-opened in August of last year, President Biden had been added and Trump was moved to the back row.
Robo-Joe didn't come without his own controversies and some also consider him on the creepy side, but honestly do any of these Presidential dopplegangers not seem creepy? To me the funniest part of the new debut is the Imagineers moved Trump all the way to the back and he appears to scowl at Biden and the audience the whole time.
Trump fans were pissed, and noted that he was put right next to Andrew Jackson, who has become a highly controversial historical figure, was the architect of the Trail of Tears and will probably soon get kicked off the $20 bill by Harriet Tubman. Imagineers countered that Trump frequently praised Jackson, openly admiring his policies and combativeness, and even had a portrait of the seventh president put up in the Oval Office. That seemed to shut the MAGA-hats up.. for now.
