Thank you SO MUCH to the SoundCloud community for making me SoundClouder of the day this week! It's been amazing to have such a strong signal boost from you, and it has inspired me to become even more involved in the community here. I have been loving listening to everyone's Audiobiographies so much that I was inspired to make another, more personal one as a follow up. I can't wait to share more of the sound-space within me here, and am inspired beyond words in the way that SoundCloud is growing and evolving along with the way we take in sounds and music in the modern world. Thanks again, and more sounds coming soon! Love, Kai (Photoshop Faerie Magick by: Erika Gomez)
I did an AudioBio last week to give my SoundCloud followers a peak into what I do and my smidge about my personal life.
Much to my surprise, they featured it on their blog! Very cool, and if you haven't heard it yet, head on over and check it out.
SoundCloud Heroes are kicking off the year with a large-scale community organized project: Audiobiography. Audiobiography is an opportunity to introduce your profile and sounds. The community is the backbone of SoundCloud. Whether you're a listener or an avid musician, introduce yourself by participating in this collective project: Who are you and what’s important to you? Whats important to me?... justice, peace, love, soul. This is an abridged version I made to meet the 90 sec. req. The full song is in my tracks under the title "Bullet". The audio samples are from Dr. Martin Luther King and Maya Angelou, two of MY heroes. It's easy to participate. Record or creatively share a sound that describes and answers the question: who are you and what's important to you? Perhaps it's a freestyle rap, or a recording that features your latest piano composition as background music. Keep track to ~90 seconds. Name the track Audiobiography with your name, as such "Audiobiography: Monica Dockery." Add a description. Tag the track "audiobio" and upload. If you have the Spotlight feature, pin the sound to the top of your profile. You can also add the sound to your profile's description under soundcloud.com/settings/advanced. Audiobiography is going to be massive, and we want everyone to be part of it. In the coming months, your audiobiography will be shared on SoundCloud and on our official blog. Connect with people around the world and hear the people behind the sounds. Here's a link to the soundcloud blog post with more on this: http://blog.soundcloud.com/2013/02/06/audiobiography/
Check out this Audiobio I did!
