HELP
DEAR MUSICAL THEATRE COMMUNITY OF TUMBLR I AM IN NEED OF HELP!!!! URGENTLY!!!!!
On MAY 23RD I am auditioning for a performing company I've been in for two years yet again because it's fun and I wish to endure horrors beyond my comprehension (dealing with a girl who LIES) HOWEVER
I do not have an audition song....
The requirements is just that it is has to be, pop-styled with a 30 second to 1 minute cut (also family friendly preferably, I can change swear words to something else but nothing too explicit please!)
I have a few songs I've put into my audition book playlist that I feel like I am able to sing though I do have an hour long voice lesson on saturday that can help me narrow down some things!
Here are some of my selections!:
Lifeboat - Heathers (not exactly pop-styled however I've sang it multiple times and have had a lot of experience with it, but the production team has heard me sing this)
Good Morning Baltimore - Hairspray (also not exactly pop-styled but I've sang it enough to be confident with belting the cut I've used for previous auditions)
Let Me Be Your Star - SMASH (I'm very confident with this one but the production team has heard me sing this before)
Watch What Happens - Newsies (the cut my voice teacher wants me to use for auditions is that final big note which I still need to work on, however I'm good with everything else in this song)
Pomegranate Lips - Derivakat (doesn't show off my voice as much but is more pop-styled)
Mawce - Everybody's Worried About Owen (I haven't fully tested this one with my voice so this is very maybe)
My farewells to the fields - Yaelokre (I also haven't fully tested this with my voice but I feel like I could do it with a cut that includes the "to my naaaaame, to the hills")
That's Life - Lady Gaga (I got this one key changed down by my voice teacher for a solo I had to do however the production team has heard me sing this because of that solo I had to do. Side story, one night the audio cut out before the keychange and I had to sing the rest of it acapella but the audience didn't notice lol)
