Ériu Fé Forest - Part 2; Confrontation
Her voice seemed to echo throughout the empty forest. “What are you doing here?” She asked again, softer this time. Slowly, Audrey began to stand up and turn around to face the mysterious woman, only inches from her. “Oh, I’m sorry.. I was just -” She stopped herself, not wanting to reveal the real reason for being in the forest. “I just moved to town. Thought it would be nice to explore everywhere, get to know the place. I’m sorry if I’ve intruded.. -” She continued before getting interrupted. “You should leave. The forest isn’t the place to be, especially at this time of night. It’s dangerous.” The woman spoke sternly as if she was warning her.
“If I’m honest, this is this furthest I’ve been so far. I don’t know my way back. Even less so now that it’s gotten darker.” Audrey stated, moving both of her arms in front of her. “I know this is sudden and all, especially since we just met, but would I be able to stay with you? Just for the night, I promise. It’s just that I seen you emerge from that cottage over there so I’m assuming you live there?” Her eyes met with the strangers for a brief moment before resting back on the ground. “Fine. But only till the morning light, I don’t let strangers stay over. Come on, let’s go.”
Audrey watched as the woman headed towards the cottage, nodding her head before swiftly following along beside her. “My name is Audrey by the way. I thought you should know since I’ll be staying the night and all.” They stood in front of the large cottage door, the woman opening it and stepping inside, Audrey following. After a few moments of awkward silence, she finally spoke. “Ellie..”
Audrey was confused, raising her eyebrow as she looked towards her. “Excuse me?” She asked, not sure of what was said. “My name is Ellie.”
