So today is the day we find out if we go further back into lockdown or not.
Auckland being level 3 is already a major pain - it effectively splits the island, you can't exactly go around.
So not only is everyone who lives and works in Auckland affected, as well as whanau of those people who are now unable to see them, everyone either side of the city is also separated even though we are still currently only in level2.
As inconvenient as that is, I just hope we get it back under control quickly enough that it doesn't have the chance to escalate. If we all go into level4 for a few weeks, I won't mind. We just have to keep trucking on and looking after each other.
I was going to foster a dog from above the divide (long story) until either its owner takes it back, or decides to rehome it to an excellent home down this way, but at this stage she can only get the dog to me using the pet courier service and she's hesitant about that for such a long trip. If restrictions increase that wont be available either. This one is tricky, but she knows I'll do whatever I can to help with whatever decision she makes.
The man thing is supposed to be going away with his brother for the weekend, but this announcement may change those plans. Thats fine, it can be postponed if necessary.
I was hoping to get to Raro soon, see my family and start planning my wedding, but I can see the bubble taking longer to set up now. Thats fine. I can wait.
I am enrolled in a course in Oct. At this stage because its local I will still be able to go on it, but if we are in level 3/4 at that time it won't happen. I've been looking forward to getting on this course and this year I finally think I'm ready for it. So fingers crossed.
I'm also involved in a charity event that was already postponed from June to October. We are expecting obver 250 guests so we really need to be in level 1 for that to be able to proceed. So fingers crossed - the charity we are supporting could really use the help.
It's not really a long time to wait for a decision from the original announcement of positive results, especially given all the information they have to collect and analyze, but it sure feels like a long wait.
It's been a long year, and I'm one of the lucky ones.
