How I Think Dead Marauders Era Characters Would Interact With Their Next Gen Family Members (If They’d Lived That Long):
Teddy Lupin:
You know damn well Ted would have adored his genderqueer punk grandkid. This one comes with severe daddy issues and a fear of abandonment? Well, Ted doesn’t know how to fix that, but he will ensure Teddy knows they are loved no matter what. Sirius and Regulus would have wanted so bad to be the cool uncles/cousins and they would have been so mad to realise that actually Teddy’s favourite is Draco Malfoy.
Delphi Riddle:
Legitimately, I think Bellatrix would’ve loved the idea of motherhood, but I don’t think she’d be very good at it. It’s fine, Aunty Andy is here to be the supportive female role model Delphi needs. Also, Delphi’s literally not evil, she’s so goofy, and she besties with Teddy, I literally don’t know why you would think she’d be capable of anything wrong. She’s literally just a blue haired lesbian goth baddie with social anxiety, leave her alone.
James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter and Lily Potter:
Lily Evans would love them. She’d have so much fun sneaking them treats their parents won’t let them have and I feel like she’d also love Ginny. James fully wants to be a cool grandfather but the three of them all literally think he’s the lamest person on Earth. He just doesn’t understand the muggle world they were partially raised in well enough to know what these kids like. But he’s trying! Honourable mention to Severus, who the three of them love to hang around with and he fully doesn’t understand why they won’t leave him alone. James Sirius actually thinks Severus is so cool and James the Prototype and Sirius are so upset about it.
Scorpius Malfoy and Cereus Greengrass:
Florence would have loved them! I feel like she in general, would’ve gotten along really well with Astoria, so she’s more of a Grandmother to Scorp than either of his actual Grandmothers (because they both famously canonically hate him). I also feel like she absolutely would have petitioned for custody of Cereus once her shitty dad died, and would have helped her learn that actually her curse doesn’t need to be healed and she’s not broken. Honourable mention to Acacia Greengrass who would have adored them just as much. Also, Sirius and Regulus totally try to be the cool cousins for Scorpius, but it doesn’t work because his favourite cousin is Teddy who is also just not finding either of them to be cool.
Lorcan and Lysander Scamander:
Pandora watching her grandsons become an athletic kid and cartography nerd wasn’t what she expected, but she loves them. You know damn well she is supporting them no matter what their passions are. Mrs Scamander (Esmerelda Vargas) would have loved showing them around Argentina, and taking them to quidditch games, but that honour does go to Rolf. Honourable mention for their great aunt Lacie Scamander, who would have loved learning kpop dances with Lorcan and finding parks for Lysander to map out.
Addison and Melody Fawley:
Marshall and Lucretia, the outdoorsy plant lovers they are, would have so much fun with their emo as Hell grandkids. They don’t always know how to talk to them, Addy’s kind of high energy and Melody has a the worst case of resting homicidal face there is, but they do love them very much. Cadmus Padgett is like a reverse Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy situation, where Draco reaches out to them but they’re too ashamed of Scorpius to actively participate in his life, Nel doesn’t want her father anywhere near her kids but he keeps on trying to show up and indoctrinate them anyway. It’s never worked. Artemisia’s just excited to be there.
Karl Jenkins:
As our resident “comes from a bigoted Pureblood household that thinks it’s progressive” boy with internalised homophobia, Matthew and Joey probably don’t like him very much once he starts acting gay.
Polly Chapman:
I actually don’t know much about who Grant Chapman is supposed to be, I just know there were a couple posts floating around trying to figure out how to make him related to her. Since I’m pretty sure he’s gay, he can be her Great Uncle, and I reckon he’d love his pink haired hopeless romantic of a niece. I assume that since Polly’s a pureblood who is explicitly somewhat comparable to Pansy Parkinson but Gryffindor, that Grant Chapman must’ve also been in Gryffindor house, but let me know if he’s actually meant to be in, like, Hufflepuff or something.
Vincent Goyle:
This boy hates his parents, I cannot picture him genuinely liking any of his family. Nereus and Maria Goyle terrify him, and he is in his best behaviour whenever they’re around, but it’s usually followed by the most devious behaviour so he can make sure his parents remember he’s not actually fond of their pureblood ways. Honourable mention for Peony Nevermore, who would have been a lovely aunt.
Frank Longbottom II, Alice Longbottom II and Auggie Longbottom:
They’re all such wildly different people that once Frank and Alice the Original Flavour think they understand what’s going on with one of them, one of the others does something that completely breaks how they view them. Florean probably loves their chaos though.
Lavinia Fortescue:
Florean and Alice would have loved her. Alice in particular would probably share her love of history, and the two disagree on their favourite periods in time to study, but they would listen to each other ramble.
P.S. Fred Weasley would have had so much fun pranking all of the Wotter kids.
