Regret to inform y'all that if you have writers block sometimes you do in fact simply need to go on a 2 hour panic-walk and write half a scene on your phone in one frantic rush standing on the lawn next to a high school basketball court while sweating your ass off multiple miles from your home because it will be gone if you wait more than 3 seconds

always thinking about how draco told harry that scorpius couldn’t stop crying after his breakup with albus even though scorpius had been at hogwarts the whole time. so either draco somehow saw scorp face to face enough anyways to conclude he is ALWAYS crying about his breakup, or he can just tell scorpius is always crying through letters he does/doesn’t write. that’s literally his baby omg.

Don’t be afraid of cutting characters when you’re doing a rewrite. Sometimes the narrative ends up chopping off characters and scenes that no longer work for the overall story. No point in bringing over a scene/character/story arc to the finished product if it will derail the story/pull the reader out of it.

Besides, that also means you can use that scene for later in another story. I’ve had to cut several characters, including main ones from my second main WIP because they no longer fit the purpose and/or don’t vibe with the new direction I have taken with the rewrite of the story.

Anyways, take my 1,000th Folly design that I am KEEPING until I say I’m sick of it and scraping it

yapping about her design+ref+little bits/hcs about her under cut

My redesigns for folly have kinda pissed me off bc I felt like something was missing all the time, I think i nailed it this time. I wanted her body to feel a little unnatural—I made her arms a lot longer and her legs are pretty long. I also always wanted to incorporate yellow into her design along with her three virtues, so, I made a little fabric belt, which I grabbed from one of my references, and added yellow to it as well as sprinkling some yellow into her tail. I also always wanted to incorporate her aspen and beast/monster bit more so (due to a poll from WAYYYY earlier in my blog’s lifetime) I made her some sort of unguligrade or digitigrade idk exactly what this specific leg thing is. I put speckles on her tail because baby deer and I think the sika deer have that and she’s all forest-y so I added that. I didn’t know how to add her poetry addiction and her parasitic side so those might be separate designs. I gave her some reference to Russian/Slavic attire bc people that were around during the folly release will remember when the wiki said she was Norwegian or Russian and I CHOOSE TO STAND BY THAT STATEMENT!!!!

the images above are some old ass drawings from a while ago on Folly’s anatomy and stuff. I decided to make both cannon to my AU. I gave her red teeth ‘cause why not. (ADDED ALT TEXT WITH SLIGHT GRAMMATICAL+WORD CHANGES BC MY HANDWRITING WAS ACTUALLY DOGSHIT ON THIS).

More context, if you read the alt text, is that her skin is bark like, but it’s mostly torn off from where it’s visible which reveals the more organic flesh+fur underneath, it got ripped off during the Cleave. Feel free to ask more questions in the notes-comments-thing bc I am too lazy to leave them here.

Small (REWRITTEN) facts/hcs—

-she sticks to Wallter because she feels like he could’ve been what the Great One couldn’t have been, a mentor, a friend… a parent that actually takes care of her

-has the mentally of a teenager-30s, shifts between then, acts immature most of the time when she’s pissed off

-likes the color pink because it reminds her of the aspen leaves before the Great One’s corruption

-If she’s not at least a little chubby she’s probably starving (TW FOR MENTIONS OF GORE AND EATING HUMANOIDS/HUMANS IN EXPLAINATION!!)

*this is due to the fact that she maintains her starvation on human’s fear but also requires to eat brains every once in a while, due to being a parasite. She eats the rest of the body of human/creature to transfer the bodymass for shapeshifting in her physical form.
