I KNOW FOR A FACT…

August— he is this brooding man. Very on edge a lot of the time and always thinking of his next sly move… but I can’t help but think that the nickname “AUGGIE.” Is what makes his knees weak or— it makes him giddy— like idk 😭💀🥹 just know the thought has me smiling like an idiot.

He wouldn't admit it at first, probably grumbles about it a little bit, esp when you say in public. But as time goes on, he warms up to it. Gives you little smiles when you call him Auggie.

you know the show could have further sold it’s august is upset because he thinks cordell treats him like he’s just a kid plot even better if they’d allowed the two to have a conversation about kevin.

because cordell would have been tripping over himself to tell august it’s not his fault, because it’s not, not even a little. and he doesn’t want his son to start down the same path that he did of carrying incredible burdens of guilt at a young age.

but maybe in doing that, he tells august some variant of--or implies--you’re a kid, he was a grown-up, you’re not responsible. you’re a kid and all the grown-ups in your life failed to protect you from kevin.

which is true, of course, but might further august’s feelings that he just gets treated as a kid.
