"My boy... I've missed you for so long."
~Brigadier-General J. Hancock~
by V. Hudson
"Oh, yes, my nephew is an artist, he doesn't just build settlements and redefine the Commonwealth! Oh I know he didn't do that by himself, not at all but he has a way with people, brings out the best in them. He was always a good influence on my Vaughn... even when he was a bad influence. (My son needed to let loose now and then.) Enough about that.
Yes, being a ghoul myself I can say that Vincent has done a lot of good for our kind and promoting Mayor Hancock to Brigadier-General has been good for everyone. Oh, there'll always be smoothskins who are wary of us prunes but they can go [redacted]. Hancock might have some bad habits but he's a real good guy. Anyway, you tell my Vinnie that he should paint more. Maybe have an exhibition one day. Nora always thought he should..."
~ Olivia 'Aunt Libby' Zander
~Vin & Aunt Libby~
Vincent was fortunate to be eventually reunited with Olivia 'Libby' Zander, Vaughn's mother and Vincent's aunt, now a ghoul. She was always a like a mother to him, filling in the void his own mother created (even before she left his Pop for her boss).
@radioactive-synth aka 'Blue' (for real, pre-Fallout 4!), to whom the OCs Vaughn and Libby belong, had this conversation that I just had to share:
Me: "I can just imagine my big, muscular, armoured, intimidating man suddenly going all submissive and shame-faced when Libby tells him off. I bet she's grabbed the bottle out of his hand on occassion! He gives her puppy eyes, to no avail."
Blue: "Vin, at the bar with the other recruits: "Sorry guys, just Nuka Cola, my aunt wont let me drink."
Olivia, at the other end of the bar: *waves at them*
Me: *smirking*
Blue: Olivia, while smoking the 4th cig in the same hour: "Darling, stop smoking that poison, you don't wanna cough up your lungs in your 50's."
Vin: *coughs a bit*
Olivia, on the other side of the settlement: "ITS CAUSE OF THOSE F*CKIN CIGS!"
Me: *LMAO*
Pre-war, Olivia never used to swear. She and Mac (who she knew as a child - caravanners travel) have done a complete potty-mouth role reversal!

5. Sonder (Outfit Swap)
After the Great War, Libby couldn't settle. She lived life as a caravanner and when Vincent met her again, he offered her a home in Sanctuary, which she refused.
Between Vin and Mac, after their wedding, they had persuaded her to at least stay in the Commonwealth and join the Minutemen Provisioners. Now, she had a regular route, got to stay at Sanctuary with her family for as long as she was comfortable and Vin would always know where to find her when he needed her.
He dressed quickly and unlocked his personal safe, looking for something special to give his aunt as a gift. After discarding a locket, a good quality fountain pen and a compact automatic pistol, his hand landed on an object, wrapped in clean but tattered rags.
"Perfect."
