What are fraymotifs?

Fraymotifs are abilities used in battle which have music related names. They come up just a handful of times during Homestuck’s narrative, mostly seen as Combo Attacks. Fraymotifs are optional elements for Sburb, but it’s indicated that the troll’s used theirs in their session and we see the Kids using them too.

Remember this?

As we can see they can be purchased on the Kids’ planets and there are ‘solos’ and ‘combos’. The solo is only for one player and there are combos for all player combinations. A player has 3 solos and judging by the increasing prices on them they also get more powerful from the latter.

First time we saw a combo fraymotif it was done with Dave and Jade while they were fighting with Bec Noir on LOFAF.

Unfortunately we only know the names for John’s list from the shop and Adagio Redshift, and we don’t really know what any of them do, we can only speculate. They also appear in [S] Collide, which we have some idea of what they do or what kind of effect they have but we don’t get names for them. There’s the Roxy-Rose-John combo

The 2 John-Rose combos and one of them has to be Myxolidian Maelstrom, and Rose and Roxy are also shown to perform 2 fraymotifs

Dave and Terezi do a combo twice, both to bring back Dirk from the dead by changing the timeline

And the Striders also perform a cool combo

Could you please do a solo fraymotif for a seer of space

Mod Who: I am so sorry, I thought about this real long and hard but I can’t think of anything else besides the three I’ve already done. Seers are a tough cookie becouse of their ability’s passive nature.

Hopefully when Mod Aura is available she can come up with something. I am really sorry :(

I. Meteor shower Run

What it does:

By stealing some of the meteors from the medium you summon a rapid meteor shower on your enemies.

What does the name mean:

Run: A rapid series of ascending or descending musical notes which are closely spaced in pitch forming a scale, arpeggio, or other such pattern.

II. Inertia Drone

What it does:

By using the law of natural tendency you can pin an object to space making it immovable or making it unstoppable and send it flying to your enemy. The speed of the object will be constant and unchangeable. (note: the object is not undestroyable, you can make it close to undestroyable by increasing its mass but make sure you don’t go over critical mass)

What does the name mean:

Inertia: The natural tendency (as defined in Sir Isaac Newton’s First Law of Motion of 1687) of objects to resist changes in their state of motion.Therefore, a body at rest tends to stay at rest and, once set in motion, a body tends to stay moving at a constant speed in a straight line (or along a geodesic in curved space) unless acted on by an outside force.An example of an inertial force is centrifugal force, which in reality is just due to a body trying to continue in a straight line while constrained to move along a curved path.

Drone: Bass note or chord performed continuously throughout a composition.

III. Cosmological constant Pesante

What it does:

Using the density and pressure of space you can pin any and or every enemy to the ground or even crush them.

What does the name mean:

Cosmological Constant: A term added by Albert Einstein as a modification to his original theory of general relativity, in order to balance the attractive force of gravity and achieve a static or stationary universe.It represents the possibility that there is a density and pressure associated with apparently empty space, and that the overall mass-energy of the universe is actually much greater than currently estimated.Once dismissed as just a mathematical “fix”, it has been revived in recent years with the discovery of the apparent acceleration of the expansion of the universe.
