To see the aurora with my own eyes was a life goal of mine. Never would I have thought it would happen in my own backyard. Feeling especially blessed 💚🩷
Eos and Aurora: Deities of New Beginnings
Note: This post can be considered UPG.
One of the first things I think about when I hear a phrase like 'dawn of a new day', is change and the ability to start over. For exactly that reason, I think Aurora/Eos can be considered deities of new beginnings.
The dawn and sunrise are common symbolism of positive change. An obvious example is 'it's always darkest before the dawn'. Other than bringing forth the day, it seems to me that Eos and Aurora are perfect deities to contact if you want to get out of a darker period of your life. They're the kickstarters of something better; the bringers of the first light. They paint the world in many colors - possibilities - before the day truly sets in.
It makes sense that people often look to sun deities like Apollo and Helios when they are looking for light. They are wonderful deities as well. However I think Eos and Aurora should not be overlooked. Their appearance during the day might be brief, but might very well be the kickstart that you need.
UPG: Aurora likes watermelon
This is extremely trivial but I feel this so strongly and I just want to document it on my blog I guess!
I have this tropical soap with watermelon in it and every time I see it I immediately think about lady Aurora, and it just feels like it makes sense somehow. Perhaps because the colors of the fruit, they kind of match the auroras in the sky lol.
Either way I'm going to make sure to dedicate my use of this soap to her 😊
Sad that I can find barely any information on Aurora without it being blatant copies of the myths of Eos with only her name changed 😭
I'm seeing the word Aurora literally daily at this point... I guess I'm doing a deepdive into another lesser known deity 😳
