I enjoyed how her intricate magic system is tied to both nature and the town’s history to further immerse readers in her fictional world. She goes the extra mile in sharing the full story of the sun and the Starmaker, giving the novel a more fairy tale feel.

Aurora and the Starmaker’s forbidden love story is one that will rip you apart and then put you back together in the best way! Their development from strangers who despise each other to lovers unable to resist the pull between them is incredibly satisfying. I especially love how Aurora brought the Starmaker back to life after he spent years in isolation. Their playful banter is a balm for the soul after Aurora figures out the cost of her magic and what that means for their relationship. Griffin does a wonderful job weaving themes of love, loss, and life into the storyline. Readers will delight in the way the main conflict is resolved.
