Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"I'm gonna lose my mind before the end of the semester. I just know I am," I said, shaking my head as I put away my laptop and notebooks. My friends and I had been studying in the student union building for the past three hours, and my brain had started to melt around hour two.
"At least that way you'd get to take a leave of absence or something without guilt," muttered one of my friends. We all muttered our exhausted agreement as we started heading home.
"Maybe one of our professors will take pity on us and cancel a test or something," suggested one of my friends. I could tell even she didn't hold out hope for what she was saying, but she said it anyway.
"All we can do is hope," I sighed. "And at least in another few weeks we'll be done with all this nonsense, one way or another."
My friends nodded solemnly as we got out into the brisk night air. We said our exhausted goodbyes and went our separate ways, and I tried to focus on taking deep breaths as I made my way back to my apartment. It had been a long semester, but despite all the tests and work, I was doing better than I had been in a long time.
Over the spring and summer, my former friends in Mystic Falls had killed my boyfriend, Kai Parker. He'd done plenty of terrible things, but there'd been a glimmer of hope for him that I'd been determined to capitalize on after he merged with his brother, Luke. That is, until Bonnie trapped him in a prison world with a bunch of killer heretics, and he came back angrier and more violent than ever.
He did horrible things, and the Mystic Falls gang did horrible things back until Damon killed him at the beginning of the summer.
I'd been devastated. I understood why my friends didn't like him, but he was different around me. I knew there was good in him, and that he was starting to come around. But of course, he never got the chance.
It took me some time to come to terms with the fact that I'd never see Kai again. It still sucked to think about, and even with my busy schedule, he slipped into my thoughts more often than not. But one good thing had come out of the heartbreak: I'd finally decided to move away from Mystic Falls. I ended up in school in the middle of the country, away from all the painful memories, drama, and danger, and I'd almost never been happier.
The only thing that could've made it better was Kai.
I trudged up the stairs to my apartment, incredibly tempted to just pass out in one of the arm chairs in the lobby. Somehow, I resisted the temptation. I managed to make it to my floor, then staggered down the hallway to my door. All I wanted to do was pass out and forget all about the final projects, tests, and papers hovering on my horizon.
I reached into my pocket to pull out my keys, but froze on the spot when I realized my door was already open. It was cracked just slightly, and when I listened, I could hear some noises coming from inside.
Instantly, all thoughts of school disappeared from my mind. I set down my school bag and dug through it to find the stake that I always carried with me.
Just because I left Mystic Falls doesn't mean Mystic Falls left me.
I carefully pushed my door open the rest of the way, then tiptoed inside. As I got closer, I could tell the noises were coming from the kitchen, so I slowly but surely headed that way. I got within a few steps of the doorway when I heard a pot clatter.
"Dammit!" came a voice from the kitchen. I could smell something cooking, like pasta, and the sound of that swearing was hauntingly familiar.
I took up position just outside the doorway of the kitchen, clutching the stake close and getting ready to strike. I took a deep breath, then called out.
"Who's there?"
More pots clattered as the person in my kitchen jumped, then responded.
"Not me."
I froze, trying to process what I'd just heard. It was only two words (three if you counted the curse word), but I could swear I recognized that voice.
It sounded exactly like Kai.
After taking a beat to catch my breath, I swung around the corner. I knew it might not be the smartest move, but I couldn't help it. I had to know. I had to see for myself.
As soon as I made it to the kitchen, I froze. The stake slipped out of my hand and clattered to the ground, but I didn't even notice. Somehow, I was staring at the one and only Kai Parker, standing in the middle of my kitchen (and making an absolute mess) despite being dead.
At the sound of the stake hitting the ground, Kai whirled around to face me. He had a sheepish grin on his face, and most importantly, he looked wonderfully, amazingly alive.
"You weren't supposed to be home yet," he said. "I wanted to surprise you with dinner."
"I... you... Kai, how are you here?" I cried. Every bone in my body screamed at me to run to him, hold him tight, and never let him go, but I made myself pause. With everything that I'd seen and done, I couldn't just believe it so easily. I had to make sure it was really him.
Kai shrugged, still looking a little unsure of himself. "I caught a flight out of the first airport I could get to. Used a little magic to find out where you ended up. Used a little more magic to open your door."
"Kai."
"Alright, alright. Honestly, I'm not sure how I got here. One minute, my life was flashing before my eyes after Damon drove a stake through my heart. The next, I saw a bright light in front of me. It felt like you, calling me home. So I followed it. Next thing I know, I'm waking up in a shallow grave in Mystic Falls."
I just kept staring at him, waiting for more of an explanation, but it didn't come. After a few beats, Kai sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Come on, Y/N, I'm the most powerful heretic there is, but I don't know everything."
"What do you know? What can you tell me to prove to me it's really you?"
Kai looked shocked, like he hadn't even considered I'd ask that question. He paused and thought for a moment, then looked back at me with the same wolfish grin I'd come to love.
"I know that you've got a birthmark shaped like a bunny rabbit on your-"
"Alright alright! I get the point, you're for real!" I yelled, cutting him off. Kai just grinned at me, and as the heat slowly faded from my cheeks, I realized what his remark meant: he was for real.
Kai had actually come back to me.
My face broke into a grin, and I raced across the kitchen without a second thought. I tackled Kai at full-speed, wrapping him in the tightest hug I possibly could and burying my face in his neck. He caught me without faltering a step, putting that superstrength to use.
"I missed you too," Kai chuckled, wrapping his arms tighter around me.
Tears of happiness and relief made their way down my face as I lifted my head and kissed Kai square on the mouth. I trailed kisses over his lips, cheeks, and nose, smiling through the tears at the feeling of having Kai in my arms again.
"Hey, hey. It's okay, sweetheart. I'm right here, and I'm never going anywhere again," he said, rubbing circles on my back and trailing a hand through my hair.
"I missed you so much, Kai," I said, blinking up at him.
"I can tell." He grinned, but it quickly faded as he took in my state again. "I promise, I'll never do this to you again. I'm never going to leave you again, not for anything."
"Wh... what about Damon? And the rest of the Mystic Falls gang?" I choked out. I hated to ask it, but I couldn't really relax until I did. I knew Kai. I knew how much he wanted to get revenge when someone wronged him. It's what escalated everything so terribly the last time in Mystic Falls.
"What about them?" he asked. I could tell he was trying to make light of the situation, but I wasn't having it. I just kept staring at him until he sighed and sobered up. "You don't have to worry about that, Y/N. I'm not doing anything about them. None of them even know I'm alive."
I raised an eyebrow, and Kai continued.
"Look, I'm not going to pretend the thought never crossed my mind. They killed me. I wanted revenge. I thought about everything I could do to them to make them pay, especially as I was digging myself out of that shallow grave. Oh baby, did I get creative."
He smiled to himself, and I frowned. His speech so far was certainly not making me more confident in anything.
"But, but, then I thought about you," he said, clearly reading the expression on my face. "And I thought about... about how much you mean to me. And... honestly, I still don't understand it myself... I walked away. I realized I wanted to be with you... more than I wanted to kill them. Is that weird?"
Just like that, I was crying again.
"No Kai. It's not weird. It's wonderful." I leaned up on my toes and kissed him, lingering a lot longer this time. He hummed and pulled me tighter to him, then deepened the kiss. I ran my hands through his hair and he moaned, but after a minute, I made myself pull away.
"Come on, sweetheart. What'd you do that for?" he muttered, nuzzling into my neck and starting to kiss up and down it.
"Kai, as much as I want to continue this, you're gonna burn my apartment down if we don't deal with the mess on the stove," I said, gently pushing him off me. He stepped back, a sheepish grin on his face.
"I thought it'd be nice to make you dinner to surprise you. It seemed like the kind of thing the guy always does in those romcoms you showed me."
I smiled. "You're better than any of those guys, Kai, I promise. And believe me, you definitely surprised me, even without a nice, fancy dinner."
He smiled and kissed me again, then pulled away and stepped back to give me a clear path to the stove. I quickly took the pot off the heat and turned off the burner.
"What were you even trying to make?" I teased. Kai huffed and elbowed me playfully.
"Fettuccini alfredo. Your favorite," he said.
"I love you, and it's so sweet of you to try, but this is not fettuccini alfredo." I paused, moving around to grab some new noodles from the cabinet. "Don't you have magic or something you could use to make pasta?"
"Yeah, but it didn't seem as romantic."
I smiled and turned back to Kai, taking a moment to appreciate that he was really here and back with me. I kissed him, then took his hand and turned back to the stove.
"Don't worry. Now that you're back, we have all the time in the world to make fettuccini alfredo and anything else we want to do."
summary: tommy finds you eating halloween candy.
word count: 211 words
warnings: slight ooc tommy?, cussing
a/n: i tried to do some research about the candy used during this time but it wasn't very conclusive.
ANYWAYS i wrote this as a submission for my challenge :) halloween will be here soon. i used the following prompt: "Halloween candy? What am I, five?" [bonus: "...I would love a piece."]
"You're ridiculous," Thomas said, his eyes locked on yours as he crossed his arms over his chest.
You blinked slowly, the candy bar you had just centimeters away from your lips. "What?" you asked, clearing your throat as you spoke. "Do you want it?"
"Halloween candy?" Thomas raised an eyebrow, leaning against the doorframe. "What am I, five?"
Thomas couldn't remember the last time he actually celebrated Halloween. When he was a child, he didn't exactly get to go 'trick-or-treating' or whatever it was they were calling it now. Just last year, a kid had nearly egged his car. Had it not been for the gun strapped to his side flashing the kid's way, his car would have definitely become a smelly mess.
"Is that a no?" you asked, huffing softly at the man.
He clenched his jaw. "Fucking hell... I would love a piece."
An abrupt laugh escaped you as you broke off a piece of the candy. "Here," you said.
He took it, narrowing his eyes at you. "Tell no one."
"What, that you wanted candy?" you continued to laugh. "I don't think anyone will say anything about big bad Tommy Shelby eating a piece of chocolate," you snorted, taking a bite out of your portion. "But yeah, Tommy. Okay."

“what an interesting date idea,” marissa stated.
you rolled your eyes, not appreciating her blatant judgement.
“well, i am an excited. it’s better than a boring dinner date that ends in either us watching mean girls, or me having meaningless sex.”
“i’m not saying it’s bad! i’m just saying it’s… bold.”
“great word choice,” you snorted. marissa laughed, getting up from your bed and walking to you. “well, he’s a grown man in his late 20s who takes a woman, whom is also in her late 20s, on a haunted house date? seems a little childish, right?” she asked.
“no. it shows that he’s creative and fun. he knows how to have a good time and that’s important,” you argued.
“i guess,” marissa sighed. “how did you meet this guy? i assume not a dating app.”
“you would assume right,” you grinned. “i met him at a barnes and noble. we ran into each other as he was reading the narrative of john smith. apparently he reads like, 20,000 words a minute and has read that book a million times.”
“mr. smarty pants, huh,” marissa remarked. “hey, i have a phd!” you exclaimed.
“yeah, but can you read 20,000 words per minute?” marissa teased.
“no, but, i sure can rock this costume,” you giggled and turned around, posing.
marissa clapped and squealed. “yes, you can! god, you look so hot. i wouldn’t be surprised if you two didn’t make it out of the car.”
“he’s not like that,” you shook your head. “he’s still a guy. even though he looks like he’s 15 years old. you sure he’s 27?” marissa raised her brows.
“yes.” you rolled your eyes, hitting her arm. you turned back to the mirror, looking over yourself again. your date hadn’t told you what to wear, but he told you a theme: sci-fi. a very broad topic in your mind. it didn’t help much, but you had a feeling he loved halloween, so you went all out.
you were princess leia from star wars. you wore her prisoner costume when she was with jabba. you hoped that your date would like it. you two had only talked three times through phone call, and this was your first date. for all you knew, he could hate it and cancel.
meanwhile, back at the bullpen, spencer was changing into his costume. he was going as master yoda from star wars. he was painted all green, with clay ears sticking out of his head specially made by penelope. he was wearing a robe, a lightsaber in his holster.
he exited the bathroom, sneaking around the office. he spotted his co-workers, sneaking up on them, taking out his lightsaber.
“boo!”
derek turned around slowly, amusement on his face. “oh, wow! you, uh, you totally scared me. good one.”
spencer frowned, putting down his lightsaber. “not even a little bit of fear?”
“i can smell your paint from a mile away,” derek snorted.
“oh, well,” spencer sighed.
“OMG. you look amazing! everyone, i did this!” penelope scurried over, taking ahold of spencer and shaking him from side to side.
“good job. he looks great, garcia.” hotch complimented, a ghost smiling reflecting on his lips.
“why, thank you, chief,” penelope giggled. “yeah, wow - those ears, huh?” jj went over, bringing her hand up to touch them, but penelope swatted her hand away.
“you are going to break them!”
jj chuckled, “sorry.”
“do you think she’ll like it?” spencer asked, twiddling his fingers.
“oh, she’ll love it, spence! you know, she seems like a star wars girl,” penelope winked.
“i hope so. i gotta go now. can’t keep her waiting,” spencer sighed.
“good luck!” hotch exclaimed. “you’ll do great,” jj smiled.
“wear a condom!” derek shouted.
spencer smiled and shook his head, exiting the bullpen. he got to his car, driving anxiously to your apartment complex. he parked in the garage, getting out the paper of which you wrote your address on.
“apartment ten,” he muttered over and over to himself.
he finally got the courage to go to your apartment after ten minutes of debating whether or not to bail. he really liked you and you were the first girl to not walk away when he started rambling. he knew you were something special and he didn’t want to mess that up, even though he was ten minutes late.
“you sure he’s coming?” marissa asked. “yes, i am sure. he’s probably just nervous,” you shrugged.
“or maybe he realised how crazy you are and -”
“shut up!” you laughed, throwing a pillow at her. “just sayin’. i was in high school with you and man, you -”
before marissa could finish that sentence, there were three knocks on the door.
“ah, that’s him! okay, okay, how do i look?” you stood up from your couch.
“amazing!” marissa exclaimed. “now, go!”
you grinned, slipping on your sandals and grabbing your purse. you opened the door, grinning as you saw spencer. spencer’s jaw dropped as he looked over you, his eyes flickering from your breasts to your exposed thighs.
“you’re a little tall to be yoda, huh?” you spoke. his eyes snapped up to yours, jaw clamping shut.
“o-oh, yeah. i guess,” he stammered.
you giggled, “you look great. who did your makeup?”
“my friend from work. you, uh, wow. i-i didn’t know you were a star wars fan.”
“yep! born and raised,” you beamed. “that’s so cool,” he sighed, eyes widening in amazement.
you giggled, “so, we ready to go?” “yeah, yeah,” he nodded. “uh, here, ladies first.” he got out of your way.
you stepped out of the apartment, shutting the door.
“strawberry condoms are in your purse!” marissa yelled before you closed the door all the way.
you sighed, hanging your head low in embarrassment. “i am so sorry about her. she has like, no filter.”
“no, it’s okay. one of my co-workers are the same way. he actually said the same thing to me,” he chuckled.
“well, is he single? marissa has been looking for a guy for quite some while.”
“yeah, he is. want me to uh… well you can meet him and give him her number,” spencer said.
“sure. maybe on our second date it can be a double date,” you grinned.
spencer looked at you, his body blushing. “se-second date?”
“yeah,” you nudged him softly. “we have to see how this one goes, though.”
“oh, yeah, of course,” he nodded. “uh, here’s my car.” he quickly went to your side of the car, opening it for you and awkwardly smiling.
“thank you. what a true gentleman,” you teased, getting into the car.
he gave you a small smile, walking over to the driver’s seat. a small, awkward silence fell over you two as spencer started the car. you sensed that he was nervous, and a little taken aback - in a good way, you hoped - by your costume. you knew you would have to take it slow with this one, but you didn’t mind at all. you had been looking for something serious, and this might be it.
“so, how was work?” you asked casually. “oh, uh, work was good. how-how was work for you?” he answered.
“work was good, thank you. did you have an interesting case today?”
“no, but we had a lot of meetings,” he answered. “ugh, meetings are the worst,” you groaned.
“they are. especially since my boss is kind of uh… not the friendliest,” he stated.
“mine, too. i swear, if i wasn’t for my love animals, i would walk out before you could blink,” you grinned.
he glanced at you, the corners of his mouth upturning.
“s-so, did you have an interesting case today?” he asked, not wanting the conversation to die.
“well, yes, but definitely not as interesting as what you deal with. there was this three-legged cat who we were able to give prosthetic leg to. it was awesome. oh, she was so happy!” you gushed.
“that is awesome,” spencer nodded. “being a vet would be cool. too bad i’m kinda of awkward around animals.”
“well, that’ll definitely change when you date me,” you chuckled. “i can’t wait,” he spoke truthfully.
you smiled at him, then turning back to the road. a comfortable silence fell over you two. spencer felt like he could finally breathe.
you two arrived at the abandoned house. chills ran up your spine as you saw the sun setting behind the house, leaving darkness in its wake. you realized what a bad idea this really was, but you couldn’t bail now. you were already here, and your date looked too adorable to say no to. you would just have to stick it out and hoped you wouldn’t get brutally murdered.
“do you have a flashlight?” spencer asked. “oh, yeah.” your head whipped to your bag and you pulled out the small flashlight you had bought in preparation for the date.
“great. are you ready?” he grinned.
you took a sharp intake, looking back at the house. “yep. let’s get this show on a road.”
you unbuckled your seat belt and began to open the door, but spencer stopped you.
“wait here,” he said quickly. he jumped out of the car, walking to your side of the car and opening the door for you.
you giggled as he stumbled when opening the door.
“what a gentleman,” you teased.
he was grateful for the green paint, otherwise you would see his face go red. he smiled sheepishly, stepping aside so you could get out. he shut the door behind you, his eyes looking you up and down again. you smirked, butterflies fluttering in your tummy.
“let’s go, master,” you winked at him, taking his hand into yours and walking towards the house.
he gulped loudly, his heart pounding against his ribcage. his whole body burned, his skin tingling as your fingers interlocked with his. the magnetic pull between you two was prominent, but the electricity he had felt in his veins startled him, causing him to jerk his hand away.
you frowned as you felt his hand slip out of yours. you suddenly felt sick and cursed yourself for being too brash. you knew he was a take-it-slow type of guy, and you liked that, you just wondered if he was also the hand-holding type of guy.
“sorry,” you mumbled. “i-i should’ve asked if it was okay do to that. some people aren’t comfortable with PDA. i used to be that way, so i understand.”
spencer’s eyes widened, regret washing over his face.
“o-oh, i didn’t- i, uh, germs. i-i don’t like germs. s-sorry, nothing against you, i promise.”
“well, i understand - kind of. i promise i keep clean, though, for future reference.” you sent him a cheeky wink.
he laughed nervously, his heart stalling at your gesture. while he didn’t like germs, he had since tried to grow out of the phobia. especially after he asked you out. derek mentioned how you might want to hold hands, hug him, all the touchy stuff. spencer prepared himself for the touching, but he never realized the effect it would have on him.
he wished he hadn’t pulled away now. even though it was just for a few seconds, he craved the feeling of your skin on his. he wanted to trace patterns on the back of your hand with his thumb. he wanted his arm around you, to feel the warmth. he wanted to feel…
“you know, it’s actually safer to kiss,” he blurted.
your brows raised, your lips upturning. “well, that’s great to know.”
his eyes flickered to you, a small smile on his face. he cursed himself in his head for speaking his thoughts, but he liked your reaction. maybe you two would end up kissing tonight.
you two reached the front of door, goosebumps rising on your skin.
“so… has anyone died here?” you asked, regretting asking the question as soon as the words left your mouth.
“a few, but it’s okay. i have this.” spencer said, pulling out his green lightsaber.
you giggled, “oh, i’m definitely not scared anymore.”
“good. i’ll protect you, don’t worry.” he looked you in the eyes, making the moment go in slow motion for a few seconds. you knew that he meant what he said.
you gave him a smile in reply, putting your hand on the doorknob and opening it. it creaked open, leaving a dark, cold hallway for the two of you to explore.
“oh, god,” you mumbled.
“are you okay? we can just go -”
“no! i-i’m okay. let’s go,” you said quickly, taking ahold of his robe and dragging him in with you.
you turned on your flashlight, shining it everywhere before walking into the house further.
“if you called your fbi friends, would they come faster than the police?” you asked.
“probably,” spencer answered. “i hope you have them on speed dial then,” you remarked.
you walked further into the house, your fingers gripping the robe tighter. spencer looked down, a small smile forming onto his face. he decided to not do anything about it, liking the way you clinged to him.
“how many floors are there?” you asked.
“three. basement, first floor, and upstairs,” he explained.
“are we going into the basement?” your throat went dry at the thought.
“if we have time. this floor is pretty big,” he said.
you hoped you two wouldn’t have time to go to the basement, or the upstairs.
“yeah, someday i’d love to live in a house like this,” you spoke truthfully.
the house was an 18th century mansion. the living room was big and homey, despite the windows being borded up and sheets over the furniture. there was a fireplace and a mantel, lots of bookshelves, and dusty rugs that were making your nose itch. above the mantel was an empty space, perfect for a flat screen tv. it looked like the living room of the salvatore boarding house from the vampire diaries.
“me, too. although, i really like my apartment. it has all my stuff in it, and it’s organized just the way i like it. a house seems too big for me,” spencer replied.
“what if you want to build a family someday, though?” you questioned.
“oh, well, i guess i would have to buy a house then,” he shrugged.
“maybe this one,” you smiled, putting the flashlight up to your face and making a scary expression.
spencer laughed, nodding. “yeah, definitely. i would love finding dead bodies everywhere.”
“i mean, you kind of do that, anyways,” you shrugged.
spencer hummed in agreement. “i guess i would get paid for overtime, then.”
“lucky you,” you replied, walking away from the living room. you entered the kitchen tentatively, breathing heavily as you looked at the knives in the corner of the counter.
“maybe i should’ve taken you to dinner,” spencer commented, standing next to you.
“i mean, we could make some here,” you smiled. spencer smiled with you. “we might end up eating maggots.”
“oh, that’s my favorite appetizer,” you joked, walking further into the kitchen.
“and what’s your favorite entree?” he asked.
“probably corpses,” you smirked. “that’s definitely my favorite, too,” spencer chuckled.
you smiled widely, pleased to see him beginning grow more comfortable with you. you had heard from one of his co-workers, penelope garcia, when she contacted you after spencer told her about you, that he was shy and to not joke with him too much. she told you that he wasn’t great with socializing. you prepared yourself for this, but now you thought she wasn’t giving him enough credit. he seemed perfectly fine.
“so, how long have you been on the team?” you asked.
“um, about seven years, i believe,” he answered. “wow. you ever get tired of it?” you wondered.
“no,” he shook his head. “there’s so many criminals to catch. so much to learn about their M.O.’s, how they think. it’s fascinating, really.”
“is it scary?”
“yeah, it is,” he nodded. “i, um, used to have nightmares, actually. i’m fine now, but there are just some cases that haunt you.”
“well, i’m glad to hear you’re fine now. i know i definitely would be crying the first second i get the case,” i chuckled.
“you have to have the stomach for it,” he nodded.
“well, if i make it through this, i’m sure i’ll be equipped for the fbi.”
“oh, yeah, i forgot to tell you, this is your field test.”
you let out a breathy laugh, not expecting him to be so witty.
“well, i hope i’m passing.”
“you definitely are.”
you hummed happily, walking around the island table. you stopped in your tracks, fear shivering up your spine.
“is that fake blood? please tell me that’s fake blood.” you shined your flashlight at the red splotches that were on the wall.
spencer walked up to you, gulping hard. “u-uh, probably not, but i swear this place is safe. i actually went to visit it with my co-workers before our date.”
“uh-huh,” you nodded skeptically. you turned around, jumping as you heard scratching noises coming from upstairs.
“did… did you hear that?” you whispered, shining your light at spencer.
“hear what?” he frowned.
you both went quiet for a second, no sound coming from the upstairs.
“i think you’re just -”
“shhh!” you put your finger on his lips, the sound then coming back.
“that!” you exclaimed in a hushed voice.
spencer couldn’t focus on anything else but your finger on his lips. his body froze at the contact, but quickly relaxed. your fingers were warm and calloused, pressing harshly against the soft, pink flesh.
you looked at him, wondering why he hadn’t said anything. your eyes then widened in realization as you saw your finger on his lips, his eyes gazing at your own lips in response.
you moved your hand away hastily, stepping back. “sorry. i don’t think when i get scared.”
“uh, it’s okay. not many people do,” spencer coughed awkwardly.
you gave him a small smile, thanking him silently.
the scratches from upstairs sounded again. this time spencer heard it.
“oh, yeah, i heard it that time,” he nodded.
you shuddered, “i hoped it was my imagination.”
“want to go and check it out?” he suggested.
you laughed, snorting as you breathed in. “you really think i’m about to get myself killed by some evil, ancient ghost?”
he gave you a crooked smile. “isn’t that what we are here for?”
you narrowed your eyes at him, frowning playfully. “i think that’s what you are here for.”
he shrugged, his smile growing wider. “i promise i’ll protect you. no ghost or goblin can withstand this.” he pulled out his lightsaber again, waving it around in front of you.
you couldn’t help but laugh, breathy giggles escaping your mouth. they made spencer’s heart flutter, and he kept pretending to fight off ghosts to keep you happy.
“i suppose i should’ve brought mine then,” you breathed in.
“leia doesn’t have a lightsaber,” spencer stated matter-of-factly.
“yeah, she does. it’s blue, like almost everyone else’s in the movies,” you corrected him.
he frowned, looking into the distance in thought. he then blushed, the heat making the paint crack on his skin.
“oh, yeah. looks like i’ll have to brush up on my facts.”
“no worries. i’m usually always right,” you winked at him. you then walked away, swinging your hips, your fear disappearing for the time being.
spencer gulped, looking you up and down shamelessly. he wanted to be a gentleman, to avert his gaze and ignore your suggestive attitude, but he also knew you were doing this on purpose, and you looked damn well doing it, too. as long as you welcomed his stare, he would keep looking.
“i don’t know if i’ve told you tonight, but the leia costume looks really good on you,” he spoke out, his voice a little dry.
you smiled and turned to him, leaning against the wall frame.
“thank you. your yoda costume looks really cool,” you returned the compliment. “how long did it take to paint your face?”
“two hours. penelope really wanted to get all the details right,” he explained.
“well, she did an amazing job.”
“thank you. i’ll let her know you thought so. where did you find your costume? it looks exactly like the one carrie fisher wore,” he said, eyeing you up and down again.
your knees buckled slightly, your heart dropping to your stomach. heat crawled up the back of your neck and you found yourself becoming bashful.
“u-uh, halloween spirit. it’s a store. a lot of their costumes are really realistic.” you breathed out, staring at spencer as he admired your costume.
he smiled at you. “well, it looks great.”
and oh, that smile. it was so charming and kind and warm; not a hint of bad intentions. of course, he was oblivious to what he was doing to you. you tried to hide it the best you could - you didn’t like being flustered - but it seemed inevitable as his big, brown eyes met yours.
“ready to go upstairs?” he spoke, not seeming to catch on to your hazy gaze.
you nodded slowly, tearing your eyes away from him painfully. you turned around, making your way up the stairs first.
spencer followed closely behind you, his hand ghosting your waist as you two reached the top of the stairs. you leaned back into his hand, making your actions seem nonchalant. but on the inside, you were jumping for joy.
spencer did indeed notice your actions, though, slipping his hand around your bare back. his fingers twitched nervously as he ran over your soft skin. he settled with his arm around your waist, your muscles tensing at his touch.
“is there a ghost up here?” you breathed out, trying to fill the silence.
“let’s see,” spencer suggested.
you two walked down the hall together, shining your flashlight in every dark corner. as you turned the corner, the footsteps started again. you jumped back, your hand reaching to grip spencer’s shoulders.
“that better be a special effect you and your friends set up the other day,” you whispered.
“i’m afraid it’s not,” spencer sighed.
“oh, lovely. well, i never thought i would die on a first date with an fbi agent in an abandoned house,” you muttered.
“yeah, i never i thought i would die dressed up as yoda.”
you looked at him, staring at his blank dace before bursting out laughing. spencer followed in suit, broken chuckles filling his throat. you let out a big sigh as you tried to calm yourself down.
“i-imagine your friends finding you dead as yoda. that-that would be gold,” you giggled.
“they definitely would be laughing more than crying,” spencer remarked.
“oh, no,” you shook your head with a smile. “i’m sure penelope would be crying. all her beautiful work would’ve been for nothing.”
spencer looked at you, a playful frown resting on his lips. “she’s very prideful about her painting skills.
“and she should be. did she do the ears, too?” you asked, reaching your hand up to feel the clay ears.
“yep. emily helped, too,” spencer said. “well, they did a great job,” you praised.
spencer nodded in agreement, he opened his mouth to speak, but a crash in the room behind you two startled you both.
“ah, hell naw,” you shook your head. you moved away from spencer, his hand dropping down to his side.
you shined your flashlight, taking long strides to where the sound came from. you went up to the door, turning the handle to discover that it was locked.
“hey, wha-what’re doing?” spencer asked wearily.
“trying to figure out what is in this house,” you answered.
“that could dangerous, you could get hurt. what if there’s-”
you turned to him, giving him a kind smile. “i appreciate your concern, spencer, i do, but isn’t this what we came here to do? i’m scared, too, but wouldn’t you regret this date if we didn’t do a little ghost hunting?”
“i wouldn’t regret this date because all i wanted to do was be with you,” he blurted out.
your face lit up with a smile. you went over to him, taking his hand into yours.
“all i wanted to do is be with you, too. honestly, i was really skeptical about this date - no thanks to marissa - but i just wasn’t sure how it was going to be because it was just so different. but i knew it would be worth my time because i could already tell that you are a great guy. this is definitely the most fun, and terrifying, date i’ve ever been on. and to make it even more fun and scary, we can take it a step further and see what’s behind that door. what do you say, master yoda?” you raised a brow.
he smiled and nodded, his fingers tightening around yours.
“thought you said you didn’t like germs?” you questioned.
“i don’t, but i like holding your hand,” he admitted.
you grinned, intertwining your fingers with his. “i like holding your hand, too. now, shall we break into this room?”
“we shall,” he nodded. excitement rushed up his spine as you pulled him to the door.
“do you, by any chance, kick down doors for your job?” you asked.
“no, but derek does. i can try, though,” spencer swallowed sharply.
you moved away, gesturing for him to try. he took a deep breath, turning his body as he kicked the door open.
“woo! wow, nice job!” you clapped. smart, funny, and strong; you were begging to like him more and more.
“i’m actually surprised that worked,” he chuckled.
“well, good job. maybe derek can let you kick down some doors from now on.”
“as if that would happen. that’s his signature move.”
you laughed in response, taking his hand again and moving into the room. from the second you stepped across the threshold, a ruffling sound commenced.
“who’s there?” you called out.
the ruffling stopped and started multiple times. you were beginning to actually think there was a ghost.
spencer shined his light in every direction, trying to find the source of the ruffling. he spotted a little pile of boxes, movement coming from under them.
“here!” spencer pointed.
you whipped your head around, narrowing your eyes at the pile of boxes.
“alright, holy spirit, show yourself!” you exclaimed.
the movement stopped and the house became dead silent.
“man, i actually miss the sound now. this place is ten times more scary when silent,” you whispered.
spencer nodded in agreement. eyes widening as the boxes moved again. he drew out his lightsaber, causing you to stifle a laugh. he glanced at you, giving you a small smile before approaching the corner.
he poked and prodded the pile, moving the cardboard boxes out of the way slowly. suddenly, a raccoon jumped out at spencer.
“ah! oh, my god!” you screeched.
you dropped your flashlight, running over to spencer. you tried to see with blurred vision where the raccoon was. you waved your hands in the air, trying to grasp the raccoon’s fur. you finally got ahold of it, prying it off of spencer and putting it on the ground. it scurried away, leaving you panting and sweating.
you looked to spencer, immediately finding your flashlight and shining it on him to see if he had any injuries. you closed the space in-between you too, putting your free hand over his face, running your fingers along the little scratches he had acquired.
“are you okay?” you asked.
spencer’s eyes flickered down from your eyes to your lips. his tongue darted out to wet the corners of his own lips, his body pulling himself impossibly closer to you.
“yeah, i’m okay,” he nodded.
your eyes widened as you realized what was happening. you didn’t try to stop it. you smiled as spencer dropped the flashlight, bringing his hand up to cup your cheek and hold your waist. you dropped your flashlight, too, eyes fluttering close as you leaned in. spencer’s breath hitched as he could feel your warm breath on his lips. his hand held you tentatively, his thumb running along your cheekbone slowly. your hands went up to his hair, entangling your fingers in his dark locks. you closed the gap eagerly, not wanting to waste another second.
a little sigh left spencer’s lips as you first kissed him. you grinned into the kiss, cradling spencer’s head and pulling him closer to you. his arm snaked around your waist, pulling you flush against him. a moan left your throat, sending blood rushing down past spencer’s hips.
you pulled away as your lungs started to burn. you opened your eyes, them landing on his. his eyes fluttered open a few moments after yours.
“are you okay?” you asked again. “yes, i am,” he chuckled.
“was that okay? i-i know that you leaned in first, but uh, i just -”
“no, no. i-i really, really liked it,” he nodded vigorously.
you giggled, “good. me, too. so, do you want to explore more?”
he pursed his lips, looking at you bashfully. “can we kiss again?”
you laughed heartily, putting your hands on his chest. you grasped his robe, pulling him flush against you
Well, I wish I could have post this earlier but all that I drink in the Halloween party last night keep me asleep until past noon. I hope everyone have a spooky Halloween and got so many candies.
Note: I know it won’t be to much as the Elijah we know but I would like to think that he would be like this when he is totally smitten for someone, and (y/f/c) means your favorite color.

“What is the matter Y/N?” he question you as soon you enter raising his sight from his paper work to see you.
“Halloween sucks” you repeat falling down with your arms cross to the small coach located in front of the fireplace.
“And why is that?” he inquiry while walking to you, his hands inside his trouser’s pockets.
“I didn’t found any costume to wear on Rebekah’s Halloween party tonight” you express pouting with a sad and lowered tone in your voice.
“Y/N” he kneel in front of you “I think you can found anything to wear tonight on this house” an smirk appear in his lips “after all, we have been through every era” he prompt without earning a reaction from you “or…” he stand up walking to his room.

You stand taking the one in his left hand, examining the costume and the look the one in his hand “what, like a dumb couples costume?”
You bit your lower lip at the thought of he, Elijah Mikaelson dress in a dumb crayon costume matching yours like a couple, when it suddenly hit you “wait, this is your form to ask me if I want to be your girlfriend?” you announce.
“Yeah, exactly” he reveal, suddenly shy for the confident vampire he always show in front his enemies or even his family “if you would like it to be” he add.
Still with the costume in your hands you run to hug him “Of course I do”
You pull apart just enough to see him, one of your free hands on the back of his neck caressing it to then peck his lips and “and just for your unique form of asking me, I will let you wear your suit for tonight’s party”
He threw his costume to the coach to then encircle your waist with his arms “no couple costume?”
“Nah, but I will make sure everyone know you’re with me” you declare to him kissing him again.
“Believe me sweetheart” he kiss your forehead “everyone know already that I belong to you”
“And that I belong to you for always and forever” you voice out to him.
This is an entry for @auroracalisto Halloween Challenge. It took me forever but I finally posted the first one! Please enjoy some quirky Kol x Reader fun 😊
It was always a dream you had, albeit a strange one, to have kids that asked you to make their Halloween costumes. When you fell in love with an original vampire it was a dream you knew had to give up on. But when your niece came to you asking for an angel costume you knew you had a chance to get as close to fulfilling that dream as possible. So you went all in. And you made sure she was going to have the best costume New Orleans had ever seen. You spared no expense and in the end, you knew she would love it.
You and Hayley had just finished putting the finishing touches on Hope's costume. She wanted to be an angel this year so you had spent hours upon hours making her wings and you couldn't lie... They looked flawless. The dress was hand sewn and her halo had real crystals and pearls attached. Like you said, you went all out for your prescious niece. Her parents were just about to take her out when Kol walked in and slung his arm around your waist, pouting.
"Darling? Why aren't we going out with Hope? You made the costume."
"Because Kol, her parents are taking her. You and I have absolutely no need to go trick-or-treating."
You turned to look at your lover and could have burst out laughing. The pout on his face rivaled that of his niece when she didn't get her way. Now you know where she learned it.
"But darling... I want candy too…"
"Kol, you are over 1,000 years old. You absolutely do not need to go out tonight to get candy. I'll buy you some tomorrow."
“I don’t care that I’m 'over 1,000 years old'..." he quoted you mockingly. "I want to go trick-or-treating.”
So that's how you ended up with Hayley, taking Klaus' spot (which he was all to happy about), while Kol, dressed in a cheap last minute Vampire costume (insert eye roll) and Hope trick-or-treated throughout the Quarter. Everyone thinks it's 'so cute' that an uncle is taking his niece out tonight. He even dressed up with her! If only they knew that what they were real seeing was a little girl and a 1,000 year old vampire. I guess you can never be too old to trick-or-treat. And you're definitely never too old for candy.
A/n: Yes another one, yes the title is an Imagine Dragons reference, I don't care what you think bc I love that song, here is the tag: @auroracalisto (Also hello again) also just Y/n messing around yes ik it was one of the darker prompts (And does anyone know how to draw local or global winds bc I'm stuck and the homework is due tomorrow)
Prompt: “What? What do you mean you summoned a demon?”
"Hey-hey Y/n?" Peter asked softly.
"Yes?" You glanced up from your book.
"I may or may not have summoned a demon" Peter blurted.
"What? What do you mean you summoned a demon?" You asked, slamming the book shut, causing Peter to jump.
"Well, I, um-"
"I mean where is it, I want to see the demon you summoned Peter, that's fricking awesome" You told him.
"My-my room." Peter stuttered. "Should-shouldn't we get some sort of weapon?"
"We're in the Avengers Compound. If we scream, we'll have Earth's mightiest heroes running to get to us" You shrugged.
"P-please?" Peter asked.
"Fine, let's get some knives." You sighed reluctantly as you pulled a knife from a kitchen cabinet and Peter did the same.
You two snuck to Peter's room as quietly as possible.
"You sure about this?" Peter whispered.
You nodded. And you flung open the door to find...
A very, very mad Tony.
"WHERE IS PARKER?" He shouted at you.
You heard running in the background.
"And why are you holding a knife, Y/n?"
"Peter said there was a demon in his room" You sighed, disappointed.
"I'm going to kill that kid" Tony muttered.
"I'm not going to say I condone it but I have a knife if you want it, Tony"
He took the knife from your hand and started running down the hall.
"Y/N HELP ME" You heard Peter shout.
You burst into laughter.
"WHAT DID YOU DO, Y/N?" Peter asked. "WHAT IS IT WITH YOU AND CHANGING MY SUIT"
"HAPPY HALLOWEEN PETER!" You shouted, as you heard the both of them laughing.
summary: you go with your boyfriend to camp redwood after his friends talked him into checking out what it had to offer around halloween.
word count: 746 words
warnings: slight au, where instead of being there for the summer, the 1984 crew visits the camp during halloween, cussing, major character death, blood, stabbing, montana using pussy as an insult
a/n: wrote this as a submission for my challenge! using the following prompts: "Can we leave before we're all possessed?" "This place scares the hell out of me."
A chill ran up your spine.
"Can we leave before we're all possessed?" Xavier asked, standing right behind you.
You jumped at the sound of his voice, but his hand that soon rested on your arm quickly soothed your momentary fright. You looked back at your boyfriend, your eyebrows furrowed.
"We're gonna be possessed?" you asked, your anxiety getting the best of you.
Xavier's eyes widened. "No, just, uh, just a figure of speech. You know that," he said. He wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you close, looking over at Chet and Montana. "Really, guys. This isn't fun anymore."
Montana rolled her eyes. "You're all a bunch of pussies. You're fine. I'm fine," she said, crossing her arms over her chest.
Chet shined his flashlight on the two of you, raising an eyebrow. "You can leave if you want. No one's making you stay."
Xavier frowned deeply. He knew if he left, his friends would never let him hear the end of it. But you, on the other hand, were quite literally terrified. The chill of October, the only light other than handheld flashlights being that of the full moon, and the fact that this stupid camp was supposedly haunted was starting to get to him, as well.
"This place scares the hell out of me," Brooke nervously said, sticking close to Ray. He placed an arm over her shoulders as Montana groaned.
"Then leave, you guys. Seriously."
You leaned back in Xavier's embrace, frowning deeply. Leaves rustled, just beyond the cabin you stood by. But there was no wind. Despite the chill of autumn, the wind had been stagnant for some time. Your hand quickly reached up, gripping onto your boyfriend's.
"Did you guys hear that?" you asked.
Montana rolled her eyes. "Stop it, [Your name]."
"What?" you looked at her defensively. "I'm not lying."
Xavier frowned deeply. "What did you hear, babe?"
You shook your head, swallowing thickly. Hesitantly, you pulled away from your boyfriend, pushing back whatever fear you had as you walked over to the tree line. You turned your flashlight on, shining it through the bushes.
It was quiet. There was nothing there.
You looked over your shoulder, softly sighing. "I'm sorry, it must've just been some animal," you said. "I'm not good with this sort of stuff."
You stood back up and turned around, seeing your boyfriend's face distort into that of horror.
"Xav?" you asked, warmth spreading across your stomach. "What's wrong?"
"[Your name]," he quickly spoke. "Don't – don't move, babe," he shakily said.
Montana's hand gripped onto Chet's arm as she watched, her eyes wide and a mystified expression taking over her features.
"Tana?" you began, as the warmth from your stomach slowly began to turn into an indescribable pain. You looked down, seeing a knife protruding from your abdomen. Blood trickled down your front, and would surely gush if the knife was removed.
No one was around – there wasn't anyone that could have done something like that.
When Xavier realized you were standing there alone, he rushed forward, quickly taking you in his arms. "Hey, baby, look at me," he said, attempting to lower you to the ground.
Your legs shook as he moved you. Pain rippled through your body.
"Be careful," Ray quickly said, rushing forward. "You're gonna hurt them," he said, getting to his knees beside you. "Was there a phone?" he asked, looking towards Xavier. "We need to call for an ambulance."
"There was one," Brooke said. "It wasn't working when I tried using it earlier."
"Shit," Ray cursed, looking down at you.
Your eyes were hazy and unfocused.
"Keep her awake," Ray ordered Xavier.
Your boyfriend reached forward and cupped your cheeks, his hands trembling. "Shit, shit, shit, we shoulda never come out here, baby," Xavier lamented. "You said it was a bad idea. I should've listened."
"Not your fault," you weakly said, smiling up at him. Your teeth were stained a light pink from the blood slowly spilling from the corners of your mouth.
"Ray, what the fuck is happening? Are they gonna die?" Xavier asked.
Ray didn't answer, looking at his friend.
"Fuck," Xavier cursed. "Fuck, fuck," he said, pressing a hurried kiss to your lips. "I love you, baby, you know that, right?"
Xavier didn't get an answer.
The last thing you saw before visited by a wave of darkness was your boyfriend's eyes, and the thing that stabbed you slowly creeping up behind him.

Biting your lower lip you palm his chest softly “We’ll talk about that later” you answer glancing at him “now let’s go or we won’t get the best candies for trick or treat” taking his hand and drag him to the foyer where the rest of the Michaelson where waiting for you.
