Also, to anyone comparing their ‘notes’ to someone else’s.

A few things to remember:

Those notes were not all at once. They were gradual. Every now and then I get notes on something I posted mONTHS ago and it may only be one at a time, but they add up.

TIMEZONES. Do not be afraid to ‘timezone reblog’!

SHAMELESSLY SELF-PROMOTE. Come on, authors do it all the time, it is literally what social media’s main purpose is. If JKR needs to self promote, than you can do it too.

Do not be afraid to message your friends to let them know! Sometimes things get lost or buried or just scrolled over on accident. Friends are there for a reason.

REBLOG. It won’t help your fic, obviously, but reblog other people’s. Pass on the karma. Us writers gotta help support each other. A like feels nice but doesn’t do much. A reblog is what you want.

Once again, DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED.

Everyone is different. If you’re writing for an unpopular ship, you’re not going to get much. If you fall into the norm and write only popular ships you will, it’s a fact of life and you gotta live with it unfortunately.

Believe in yourself. It may sound lame but, if you love what you are doing, and you believe in yourself, the rest honestly does not matter.
