Um did Adam Driver just say the best characters are "transformed by the ending" or did i hallucinate the interview with Seth Myers? (He was discussing Marriage Story but i mean)

I didn’t get a chance to watch that interivew, but it’s definitely interesting to hear more of his thoughts and processes when it comes to acting/storytelling. I mean, for me, the best characters are the ones that go through a lot of changes throughout the movie/book/whatever. Static characters never really land with me (though I can see how they’re fun from like an imagination standpoint because you can make them into whatever you want).
But a character like Charlie in Marriage Story (or Ben Solo), goes through a lot of changes. At the beginning of the story, you can kind of tell he’s not really understanding his part in why the divorce happened (despite what he’s done) and by the end, you can really see the change in both Nicole and Charlie. It’s a really great movie and I can’t wait for it to be on Netflix so more people can watch it.

Reading other people’s reactions to the movie is kind of interesting to me because watching it I honestly felt like I wasn’t watching a movie, it was that engrossing. And while there were parts that were sad and heartbreaking, it really felt hopeful to me... by the end lol. I dunno. My relationship isn’t anything like Charlie and Nicole’s, so maybe that’s why (and I dealt with the impact of divorce and death as a child, so not like I don’t have a frame of reference for it). But you never get the sense that these two characters don’t want what’s best for their son, and I guess that resonated with me. That, and I think even though they’re not -in love- anymore, there’s still love there between them.
It was emotional, but I felt uplifted by the time the end came around. There’s a lot going on between them, a lot of meddling from outside forces, a lot of hurt, but I think they end up coming away from that experience better for it. Anyways lol, it was really great and I enjoyed it a lot. And, as much as I see people focusing on Adam’s performance, Scarlett was really beyond great in this, as was the supporting cast.
The world felt whole and lived in a way that most movies fail to capture.
ANYWAYS. I’d say it’s a great sign that Adam is drawn to characters that experience a lot of growth (bodes well for Ben Solo). Because I can’t see him really willing to take on a project like SW and Ben Solo on if we’re getting “villain dies after being villanous” etc. Can’t wait to hear more about his process once the movie is out!

Oh, that sounds lovely!I only know about the National Icelandic Sheepdog Rescue Alliance located in the USA. Unfortunately, there aren’t many ISDs to adopt because they’re so rare I guess. I mean there aren’t even 16 thousand registered ISDs, compared to about 10+ million GSDs worldwide.
This morning I woke up and it's one of those days when you put on music and just skip every song because none of them feel right. I made myself eggs because all my favorite breakfast foods are gone and I've got a final at 10:30 to get ready for. It's math so I'm screwed. And that is my day so far
