It’s never going to be a matter of what he considers himself when it comes to Miles ; regardless of how he intends to convey himself , he tends to come across far too rough and brutish for some people’s tastes — see , he struggles a lot to process and display emotion , and often the first things that come to mind ARE the first things he’ll say , rather than waiting to consider the delicacy of a situation or the affect his words might have on someone else … an inability to strongly empathise oft leads to struggles of this nature .
… but he doesn't consider his lack of understanding an excuse ; if he’s cruel , or callous , miles takes responsibility regardless . ( He’s always been eager to learn , after all ; it’s in his nature . Though there are some cases where he might not mind being cruel … some criminals require a rough touch , after all . )
