1 – Clare

A deserved first call-out, but like it feels like Clare was never not going to succeed. She got one of the easiest fashion icons, a beauty shot which narrows down what we can critique, and given that fashion icon has such a clear expression and look…I mean I just think her job was significantly easier than the likes of Tahnee and Adele this week. I can’t really fault Clare’s face, the eyes, the breathless expression, it is perfect. I think the body is actually quite awkward, but again the face is all that really matters when you have such a close-cropped shot, and the body isn’t bad enough to take it down. Just glad that is me done with this week.

2 – Tahnee

I think Tahnee somehow managed to get Elizabeth Taylor somewhat down here. The sex appeal, the elegance, that Hollywood glamour. It is a good photograph of an Elizabeth Taylor impression, maybe it could work in some make-up campaign, but the pose has concealed the dress. Tahnee’s face does look beautiful, and she is proving her consistency again. Gone is the girl constantly lacking confidence in shots, she is refining her style and providing really competitive shots. I think Tahnee potentially deserves more praise, given how I think she had a harder job than Clare this week, but I’m not going to handicap Clare for productions failure.

3 – Adele

Of all the fashion icons, my knowledge of Greta Garbo is limited, but I think Adele did okay in terms of a fashion shot. I think here the dress looks great, and it feels one of the most high fashion shots, when looking at the styling, set and pose combined. I love the position of her arms and hands, very delicate and feel intention. The curves of her body too make the dress look great. Unfortunately the face is very weak, she hasn’t handled this makeup well. The expression isn’t reading as what I think she intended, and comes off as sleepy and weak. I think it is a usable ad, and more expensive and luxurious than Franky’s shot, but still not Adele’s finest work.

4 – Franky

In the wide shot, her body looked great, so she has that going for her, but this just feels like your typical Grace Jones impression. I think the scream has hurt Franky’s face, I see none of the strong facial structure I am used to with her, and the expression doesn’t continue up until the eyes. I think it could work as a relatively commercial fashion shot, as Franky looks good in the clothes, but there isn’t anything high fashion about it. In terms of Franky’s elimination, I think it was clearly either her or Cassi’s time for me, and I wasn’t too fussed which order they would have went.

5 – Cassi

I’m not a huge fan of celebrity inspired photoshoots like this, even this one which is one of the better ones I’ve seen, so most of these will be short and sweet. Cassi nailed the impression, but it feels like she was just done, and it luckily lined up with her character. It also really doesn’t feel like a fashion interpretation of Posh, but instead like…a drag queen impersonating her. Easy choice for last, and with her attitude, mediocre portfolio at this point, I’d have happily seen her go.

1. Clare

I feel like Clare’s FCO should come with an asterisk since she had a beauty shot chosen and her assigned icon was perfectly suited for her look (arguably more than any other girl). Still, this is by far my favorite shot from this week and the only one I actually love. Clare really nailed the essence of Twiggy and I would still get those vibes even without the makeup/styling. Her doll-like eyes are so piercing and I love the breathlessness of her expression. I also like what she’s doing with her shoulders, having them pointed in different directions makes her positioning more interesting since this is cropped in so close. Clare did a stellar job of meeting the assignment and I fully agreed with her FCO at panel.

2. Tahnee

Honestly, all the shots from here on down are on relatively equal footing for me. Tahnee did impress me since she portrayed Elizabeth Taylor fairly well considering she was totally clueless about her assigned fashion icon. The pose is solid for the most part, and I especially like the elegance of her hands. Her face photographed gorgeously and she definitely has that Hollywood glamour in her expression, but I wish her eyes were more focused. Overall it’s a good performance from Tahnee, but I’m also not excited by it at all.

3. Franky

Franky was obviously much better on set than what her final picture reflects, but this picture is just a mediocre portrayal of Grace Jones. I’ll start with the positive and say that her pose is fantastic. Her banging body looks incredible, she displayed the clothes well, and I love the angsty hands up at her temples. Unfortunately, she loses me with her face. There’s no power in her scream and her eyes are completely dead. It just looks like she was shot up with novocaine and is waiting for the dentist to do their work. Even though Franky isn’t in my bottom 2 I wasn’t against her elimination at all since she was the weakest model left.
