To the people I am following on tumblr:
(also, expect comentary on game censorship in australia)
You guys are great! You're on fire today. My dash is a flurry of all things pleasing and fantastic. And has been for a few hours. I've laughed, I've cried, I've changed my life. Quite zazzy!
To my faithful, pixelated followers and enjoyers of concept art and gaming, alike. You guys are also great, but for more personal and sentimental reasons. Your attitude is infectious and your opinions are necessary (and valid!). Thanks for all the nice things you all say. I try to say nice things back, but we here get a bit of mail, so be assured I do read all your hatings and luffings with BOTH MY EYES. But, I digress, partially...
Someone recently mentioned video game censorship in Australia to me, user styles-of-beyond specifically, but, well, not mentioned, more copy-pasted a wiki page of the actual censorship laws for video games in australia with no real comment. I initially took the ask as you telling me to keep my profanity and in-game blogging violence to a minimum, I was offended and responded by releasing Bayonetta.
Basically, Australia doesn't have an R +18 game rating, those games rated thus are just not even available on our shelves. Or they are REDACTED. Essentially, stripped of their 'forbidden' content. Which is an act of dada-terrorism; like drawing a mustache on the Mona Lisa, and then taking away her nose. The point is, yes, Australia's video game censorship laws are fucked. And its because of this twat, Michael Atkinson:

(awesome Fallout 3 footage on the news + yahtzee \o/)
and it's kinda a tired topic for me, being an Australian gamer, but most of all because of this kind of political close-mindedness is exactly the kind of thing that is rampant throughout all Australian Politics. Not all, but of that more 'traditional' stock. Without having to lift my sleeve and show my gavel tattoo, I can surmise my point by saying nearly everyone in Australian Parliament, is essentially, this guy:

pretty much outlines the 'sitch. Saw this a while ago, seems relevant. Even though these clips are a couple of years old, Australia still does not have an R 18+ rating. There have been movements and chats in the government suggesting there will soon be a change to this law, maybe... u_u, it's derptastic, but you can read about that here. That last video is of a guy. He gives his opinion which is suitable and reasonable for someone trying to argue the logical, so I'll take my leave as I grow short of breathe, and leave it at "you're all fantastic."
The above should be interesting for most people interested in things, but mostly Aussie gamers who were wondering where Mortal Kombat is at your Local EB.
