As an Australian I prefer talking in person significantly more than typing- bc the way we speak relies quite a bit on tone- like if I said “fuck you dumb cunt” online to someone, they’d think I was getting aggressive when in reality I’m being friendly
It works the other way too, if I call someone mate online, they might think I’m being friendly when in reality I’m pissed off, there’s a different inflection on mate depending on intent. Same with cunt
It’s just some things that tone tags don’t really help bc I can hardly find the ones that fit right with what I mean
