He probably got one or two speeding tickets trying to get home, finally pulling up to the house he jumps out of the car with Charlie only to be stopped from going into his own home by one of the officers. "I live here! This is my home!" the officer continues to stop him "Sorry sir, but you can't go in there!"
"Where's my wife?" he hissed "Mrs. Barlow is at the police station giving a statement, sir!" he turns in her step and makes his way back to the car "Daddy, why are the police at our house?" he asks as they get back to the car "They are just making sure the security alarm is working buddy!" he smiles trying to downplay the situation.
"Now we are going to take a little trip to the police station to see mummy!"
Twenty minutes later...
Adam's sitting with Charlie in the waiting room after handing in the photo. "Daddy, where's mummy?" Charlie questions him "She's just talking to the nice police officer, she'll be here soon. I promise!"
A few minutes later, Ellie wanders into the room Adam collides with her "Thank god!" he feels like he can breath again "Are you ok?" he feels her nod against his shoulder. "You two ok?" she whispers, holding tightly onto him. He's holding her just as tightly, "We are ok! I've been thinking once we leave here we are going away... on a plane!"
"We...we can't! Work, school, our family, home...we can't just leave...." he huffs pulling away to look at her, "We aren't staying! I've never put my foot down, but this time I am!" she knew that he was right and there wasn't any point in arguing with him.
"OK, I'll get Mum to grab some stuff from the house...I - I don't want to go back there right now!" he nods "Are we going on holiday?" Charlie asks. "Yeah, buddy, we are...actually where is Delilah?" Adam looks to her "She's with Mum, she wanted to sit in a police car so one of them took her to the station car park to choose which one she wanted to sit in!" Adam chuckled "That girl!"
Later that day...
"Will we have breakfast with a kangaroo?" Delilah asks as they take their seats on the plane, "Maybe...I'm not sure they will have breakfast with you, Bubs!" Ellie laughs, "Mummy, did you know Australia is the planet's sixth largest country after Russia, Canada, China, the United States of America and Brazil?" Ellie looks at Charlie impressed "Did you learn that in school, buddy?" Adam asks him. "Nah, Alexa told me!" Adam and Ellie cry with laughter.
Two days later...
Finally over their jetlag, Adam booked tickets to the Adelaide Zoo.
"Look at the Koalas, Daddy!" Charlie points at them "Beautiful, aren't they!" he lifts Charlie to sit on his shoulders to get a better look. "Mummy, can I sit on your shoulders?" Delilah smile up at her Mum "Bubs, I would love you to! But I'm not as strong as daddy, I can put you on my hip, so you can see?" Delilah nods.
"We'll swap at the next enclosure, Del!" Adam winks at his daughter. "Mom, Dad, come on!" "Hurry up slow pokes!" they hear twins call over to their parents in an American accent. "Hey boys, look at these facts. Did you know, Koalas survive on a diet of eucalyptus leaves and can eat up to a kilogram a day! Pretty impressive, considering eucalyptus is poisonous to most animals. Their special fibre digesting organ, called a caecum, helps to detoxify the chemicals in the leaves.”
The boys mum laughs "Sam, you're such a nerd!" he chuckles "Dahlia, I thought that's what you love most about me?" Sam smirks at her.
A few enclosures later...
"Wombats, aww these look cute, Mummy!" Delilah smiles down to her from Adams shoulders. "They do, don't they, bubs!" Ellie looks over to the other end of the enclosure and nudges Adam "Think their on a school trip?" she nods over to the red hair woman and the tall mousy blonde man "Feeling at home, Wombat?" the red hair woman swats him "watch it, Mr. Brookes or I'll break out the J word again!"
"That or they're at it like rabbits and had that many kids!" Adam laughs, "Nah, she's too slim to have that many. Plus they all seem about the same age!" Adam turns back to the pair "Yeah, you're probably right! Come on, let's go and see what's next!"
Later that evening...
Back at the apartment they are renting out, the kids are exhausted after dinner Ellie reads them a story in bed. She slowly sneaks out of their bedroom "Are they asleep?" Adam whispers as he asks as he peaks a look through the crack of the door. "Yes! I think they were worn out, probably why Delilah was so ratty at dinner!" she shook her head knowing that was a trait she got from her.
Adam took her hand and pulled her to their bedroom "Someone is eager!" she teases him, " I am but first put this on!" he hands her the bikini she had packed. "Why do I need to wear this?" she questions him. "Because there is a hot tub in the back garden with our names on it!"
"What about the kids?" she knew she could see the window of the kids bedroom from the garden, but having someone break into your house and take a picture of you sleeping really freaked her out. "Ell's, they are fine! The front door is locked and chained and we can see the front door from the hot tub!" she starts to undress and change into her bikini.
"Whoa! Ellie, you look wow!" she plays with the strap at her hip and looks over her shoulder at him with a smirk "Fits ok?" she teases him, "You know it does!" his hand collides with her rear and his lips brush against her shoulder "Let's test out this hot tub!" she makes her way outside and he follows.
They sink into the tub "Oh that feels nice!" Ellie moans "Oh wait, I forgot!" Adam leans over the side and picks up a bottle and two champagne flutes, "Ooo..are you trying to get me drunk and have your wicked way with me!?" she grins at him, "I'm pretty sure I wouldn't need to get you drunk for that!" she rolls her eyes at him.
He passes her a glass, "This is nice isn't it! Just being able to relax?" Ellie nods, "It's just a shame we had to travel across the world for it! Adam, I hate that no one knows where we are!" she sighs. "I know, but at the moment it's for the best, beautiful. I don't think it will be for long!"
She silently laughs as she moves across until she straddles him "Hmm..down to business, huh?!" he moves in to kiss her, but she places her hand in the way "I wanted to talk to you about something?" he pinches his brows together, she takes a deep breath "I want another baby!" he's stunned by her confession.
"I know after Delilah I had PND, but I was speaking with Joanna from the PND support group about it and she had another after she had PND with her first and didn't get it the second time round. This time I know the signs..." she sighs and looks down at her drink. His finger lifts her chin to look at him "Ell's, you know I would love to have another baby..."
"But? I sense a but coming!" she half smiles at him, "I'm not going to lie! I am a little worried you about you going through that again!" she cuts him off "B-but this time..Charlie is six and Del is four. I wouldn't need to worry about trying to deal with a newborn and a toddler and I know the signs now!"
He can see how much she wants this "That maybe so, but I think maybe we should talk to the doctor first before we make any kind of decision." she huffs "So that's it end of discussion?"
"Ellie, I did not say that!" his word almost a hiss, "That's what you mean because lets face it, we don't know how long we are going to be here for!" she moves off his lap and back to the over side "Do you really want to bring a baby into what is going on right now!?" his voice a little raised.
"So I'm supposed to let some stranger dictate my life?!" she hisses back at him, "I'm not saying never, Ellie...just not right now!" his words were almost a whisper. She jumps up and out of the hot tub "Ellie, don't be like that!" he calls after her as she makes her way back into the house.
🎶 Now it doesn't make much sense, there ought to be a law against, anyone who takes offence, at a day in your celebration cause we all know in our minds, that there ought to be a time, that we can set aside, to show just how much we love you ... 🎶

@aussieez is a fantastic writer, great person to brainstorm ideas with or proofread. I have read all her fanfics and loved every single one.
She writes so beautifully, isn't scared to write about tough subjects and just when you think you know where her stories are going she throws another curveball at it. Love all the twist and turns.
I hope she knows how fab she is 😊 as long as she keeps writing I'll keep reading 😘

1. What’s your favourite fic of all time?
This is soooo hard to answer. There are far too many that stand out like @littlefreya The Way to Hell and @wolvesandhoundshowltogether Kissed By Fire but at the moment my favourite is @just-chirpin Eyes That See
4. What’s your favourite fic trope?
Anything where there’s a pre-established relationship that turns into more, Friends to Lovers, Siblings Best Friend, Enemies to Lovers, Reuniting Lovers. Love all of those.
10. Smut or no smut?
SMUT!
Honestly, did you have to ask?
I still like reading fics without smut, and I write fics without smut. BUT, I love smut.

15. Has there ever been a trope you thought you’d never enjoy reading, but then eventually you did?
Yeah, the Stepdad/Stepdaughter trope. I blame the Slasher fics I read sometimes and @cruelfvkingsummer

One fic? That’s so hard. I’m going to tell you some blogs that need more love

30. What’s your favourite fic rec blog?
I don’t know any at the moment, the last few months I haven’t seen many going around. However, @littlefreya has an amazing fic rec section in her masterlist and so does @firefly-in-darkness
35. What do you love most about fics in your current fandom?
I think what I like most is that (in my experience), despite many authors interpreting characters differently, we are pretty accepting of the differences. There are no fights about the characters being hard or soft or liking this music or that music. I love that and appreciate it. I love reading characters that are similar to how I would write them, but I love reading different interpretations. Sometimes I’m in the mood for a hard arse Sy who doesn’t show a soft side, other times, why not read a sub!Sy story. It’s fun.
That was a mammoth task. I don’t know how you write so much and have times to play these games too.

I still have no idea why Souths couldn't have worked something out with him. He grew up only wanting to play for Souths...
He is injury prone, so I hope that doesn't affect him. He was a great Captain for us, I'm sure he'll serve the Broncos well.
I wish him all the best for every game except for when he plays us. I'll take the luck from that game and give him double luck for when he plays the Storm. 👀

There is definitely an opportunity for more with this fic that I don't think would take away from the story. And if I'm honest I've written the sequel in my head like 20 times! 🤣🤣🤣
I won't share what I’d like to happen in fairness to @wolvesandhoundshowltogether in case she ever does decide to write more. But yeah, I love this fic and wish there was more.
