The Final Showdown is one of the best tracks especially for something new and in the action scenes. That seems to be everyone’s favorite or anticipated track. I think a lot of the soundtrack reflects the unevenness of Season 6 itself and what Blake Neely was given to work with. A lot of previous tracks were brought back which is fine and I enjoy those in the series but they didn’t match the same emotional impact as they did the first time they played so it fell a bit flat (excepting “What your Dad is”) Plus, a well-rounded soundtrack (like Seasons 3 and 4) involves a lot of new and a few familiar. These had too many returning and not enough memorable new. Which is saying a lot for a culmination of 23 episodes. I did however order the cd to be legal (since it’s still not streaming yet) and after the crossovers, I’ll write a little more:)

I agree entirely. Apart from those two (one of which I was anticipating) none of the other scores really stood out to me, which, as you say, reflects the unevenness of the season. I liked elements of them, such as the one from Thea’s last scene where her theme plays; it reminded me of the first time she was reunited with Oliver in the pilot, and in that respect made me nostalgic, but there wasn’t anything that I wanted to immediately listen to again. For some reason I wasn’t expecting What Your Dad Is at all (because so much of it is taken from Not Black and White I figured they wouldn’t bother repeating it), so I appreciated that one.
I’d say that overall my favourite soundtracks - as a whole - have been the S1 and S2 ones, even though some of my most favourite individual pieces have come from S3 and 4. I’m a sucker for anything with the Olicity theme in it, of course, but also Oliver’s hero themes always strike a chord (pun intended).
