Have you ever been to this coffee shop/ technically a bar in Austin, Texas? I had never gone before my friend took us. This is SUCH a beautiful space and lounge. I'm honestly COUNTING down the days until I can go back. Process Painting – Abstract Expressionism Workshop

This process-based workshop explores the heart of abstract painting and focuses on the process of creating rather than the result.

This is a workshop created with the intention of creating a safe and all-inclusive space where people of all art skill ranges and life stories can awaken to or nurture their inner artist.

You’ll learn how to :

Use tools and materials to paint abstractly and for the process

Let go of fears and push against insecurities and limitations while painting

Express yourself in a more emotive way

Take away :

Abstract making techniques

Your own abstract creation on canvas

A better understanding of the basics of painting

This class includes all materials, is for all experience levels! *Please wear comfy clothes that you may not mind getting permanent paint on (though we can provide aprons).

What’s Super Rad at EAST Austin Studio Tour 2015?

Big Medium’s East Austin Studio Tour is a free, annual, self-guided art event spanning across two weekends in November. In 2015, EAST features 287 Artist Studios and 152 Exhibitions, which are free and open on the weekends of November 14-15 & 21-22 from 11am - 6pm.

The Super Rad Collective is represented all over Austin this year.  See our our members out at stops 193, 420, 309, and 159. 

Stop 193: has three amazing artists from our group:

  Janis Fowler- mixed media work

  Olivia Rains- paintings 

  Jorge Palomarez- paintings 

Stop 420: includes April Davis of Deadly Creative photography.

Stop 309 includes ceramics artist Brenda Armistead, the mastermind behind Granny Goodfish. 

 Stop 159 features Liz Hermanson’s illustrative work.
