One of the main reasons why I took a break from posting on Instagram is because we moved. We left San Diego, California and moved to Austin, Texas. After an intense, long, and frustrating house hunt for a duration of about six months this beauty showed up on the market. And even though it sounds like a cliche, the moment I saw the house, I knew this is the one. I was so glad that my husband agreed. Four weeks later the house was ours and we moved in on December 23rd, 2019 (the photo was briefly taken after our move in date). We are in love ever since! The house sits on a much bigger lot than what we had in San Diego which is wonderful but also a bit intimidating since I have never gardened on such a scale. Also our house in San Diego came with hard- and softscape in place so basically an existing garden that I only had to embellish which I did and enjoyed. The grounds of our new house are much less developed, the backyard is not even fenced in and at times frequented by deers! Regardless, I am looking very much forward to creating a garden surrounding our new home, of course, but I know already that it will be much different from the garden that I nurtured and loved in San Diego. I hope you will come along for the ride! I have to say that it feels wired to pick up posting again in these uncertain and challenging times with regards to the development of the spread of the Coronavirus. But for me when I visit other Instagram accounts, especially now, Instagram offers the possibility to escape the news, harsh facts, and scary statistics for a short time in the day and recharge, enjoy beauty and get inspiration, keep up a little bit of normality, and engage with like-minded kind people. I hope that these are the things that you will find through my own account as well. I hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe!
