Idk if it exists in other countries but in Australia there was a service called hire a hubby where you could get people to come round and build ikea furniture for you or do small maintenance tasks for a set rate. My gripe is it only existed for traditionally masculine tasks like mowing the lawn. I'm sick and live alone and too exhausted to get out of bed, do you know what I would give to hire a hubby for a few hours to do my dishes and take out my trash? Can my hired hubby reply to my emails and schedule in my social obligations? Can he take the laundry out of the dryer and fold it for me while shitty dad rock blares through his headphones and we both refuse to make eye contact? Can he make me a grilled cheese and pot of soup and then be like "alright mate, you're all set. Are you paying cash or through the app?" It seems like the only type of labor capitalism hasn't monetized into gig work is traditional "womens work". Someone smarter than me probably knows why that is.

i am So Upset for So Many Reasons!! but specifically, it feels so wrong that its no longer on the abc!!

but for the last 20 ish years of my life I've been watching Doctor Who on the abc and ivew, and im Sad that its gone
