“So,” Maddie started, “I have some good news, and some…bad news.”

“Mads, I literally can’t take any more bad news.”

“Well, the good news is that the bad news can be fixed by the good news.”

He was so confused.

“Remember I told you one of the models had to cancel?” Buck nodded. “Well Hen found another last-minute replacement, but they—well they also had to cancel…last minute.”

“Anyway, Hen was able to find another replacement, for the replacement.”

“Ok. Fine, whatever. Why are you telling me all of this anyway if you’ve already found another replacement?”

“Well, Chim and I were talking, and we thought—who better to model for the covers than the one who wrote them?”

“Mads, no way! I’m already way in over my head with all these bonus chapters. Besides, I don’t know the first thing about modeling.”

“Well, that’s perfect, seeing as our other model doesn’t have any prior experience either.

One look at the guy had Buck asking what they needed him for.

A chapter full of kisses, texts and changes.

His lips had been pinker than the last time he’d looked, more plush, filled with blood and still a little damp from Eddie’s mouth. The temptation of that had him returning for more sweet kisses, capturing Buck’s bottom lip and sucking it lightly, teasing the plumpness over and over until more soft sounds left Buck and they’d both been left trembling

Author!buck returns with chapter 12 7.4k

Eddie and Chris head to Buck’s apartment to collect a dragon who got lost. Eddie doesn’t expect to stay too long because busy authors must have lots to do with their time.

Buck doesn’t expect Eddie and Chris to stay too long because why would they, they must have plans on Eddie’s day off.

Chris is looking forward to his visit to Buck’s. He can’t wait to spend the day with him because, well he might be a kid but he’s not stupid. Unlike some people he could mention.

Chapter 12 7.4k a little snippet under the cut

To say Chris is excited to find out that a) Gwil has been found and b) they get to go to Buck’s apartment would be an understatement. He’s thrilled and as predicted Buck is his new best friend and hero, he was already impressed, now the man will be able to do no wrong in Eddie’s kid’s eyes. It had been extremely easy to get Chris up and dressed as soon as he knew their destination. He didn’t even complain about brushing his teeth

Christopher chatters on the way to the car and in the car as they drive. There’s a lot of speculation about what kind of place Buck lives in will it be big, will he have a giant television or a computer system with games Chris could play. Will there be a pool? Does he have a library, will he have his own books on the shelves, will there be a butler or a maid. A private cinema? 

Eddie tries to shut that all down with a laugh, saying he’s pretty sure Buck doesn’t have staff, a swimming pool or a cinema. Chris gives him a look that says ‘are you sure?’ that puts a sliver of doubt in him. Could he? Are authors rich or super rich? How much money do bestselling authors even earn? He has no idea. It could be a lot, it’s certainly more than a firefighter earns that’s for sure, so maybe he does have a pool and a butler and a cinema?

Maybe he has a whole host of people who do things for him that ordinary people have to do for themselves, a cook, a chauffeur, god what if he has a private jet or something.

A little taste of chapt 8 it’s almost party time

Eddie had thought the question was fairly simple but Hen and Chimney are just staring at him so he repeats himself.

“So do you want to come with us?”

The silent stares mean he feels the need to clarify further.

“To the party?”

His gaze moves back and forth between his friends, waiting for a reaction. He has no idea what’s wrong with them.

“Next week.”

The slow grin spreading across Chim's face and the way his friends exchange a sly look make Eddie suddenly nervous.

“This would be the party Denny’s favourite author is having right?” Hen asks.

“The fancy party being held at a fancy hotel with free food and drink?”

That’s from Chim.

The Write Way to Love Chapt 1

Eddie finishes folding the laundry  with a sigh, he’s tired from a busy shift and there’s still a lot to do to get dinner ready and sort out Chris’ things ready for school tomorrow. Speaking of Chris, he’s been very quiet. Eddie’s head twists in the direction of his son's room, suspiciously quiet.

In fact now he thinks about it there’s been no sign of Christopher for almost an hour now.

Probably best to check. He calls out his son’s name and gets no answer.

“Christopher?” 

Calling again Eddie wanders towards Chris’ room. There’s still no response and curious as to what’s keeping his son so occupied Eddie knocks then pushes the door open.

Nothing looks particularly unusual, Chris is just sitting there at his desk, head bowed over, intensely concentrating on something. Considering how much nagging Eddie usually has to do on the topic it’s unlikely to be his homework.

“Watcha doing buddy?”

Christopher scarcely turns his head, just calls over his shoulder.

“It’s for a competition.”

As that seems to be all that’s getting volunteered  Eddie investigates, “What kind of a competition?” 

Chris finally looks up and turns around with a put upon sigh, “they told us about it at school; we can draw a picture and if the author likes it best, they’re going to put it in the next book. My teacher read a bit of one of the stories, it was really good. I’m going to enter, if you win you actually get to meet them.”
