i’m resisting the urge to talk about my gay character in my screen writing class. It’s plot relevant to the story in multiple intersecting ways and a plot driving element to a lot of unmentioned (on the side of unimportant information, but character relevant elements), and it’s not something the reader/viewer needs to know until the climax moment or something. But all the characters know he’s a gay boy, they love him even if he can’t get a job - very supportive and shit. The reason he can’t get a job is because he’s suspected of ‘being a gay’, and there is that element of intolerance that he encounters, but he never says, “It’s because of A they won’t hire me.” He accepts this, and it puts his character in a bind with a lot of pent up frustration, which is never seen but it becomes apparent later in the script film as his irritation leaks out, and he sort of takes it out mostly on his sister, not so much his friends.
But his sister is a badass, don’t worry. She kicks his ass (in a metaphorical firm talking to), and the day resumes normally. Normally.
note; the story pitch has nothing to do with the main plot; he’s the brother of the main character, and these are character aspects/traits which embed with the characters actions. There’s only this love triangle in the story that I hint at, it’s not meant to be seen unless you wanna ship people (you would probably cue in on it too) and that’s your purpose on this planet is to ship characters. Cool. The main plot of the story is cyber zombies.
lemme tell you ‘bout my main protag

“I don’t have a lot of time and I’m not really sure what direction to take with this chapter in, but I should try writing something. Maybe two sentences....”

“O god, I can’t stop writing this dramatic plot ark. What the hell happened here? Who are all these new characters? Who AM I?”
me writing the plot ark of this one side character
me: “Huh. He sounds really interesting. I wonder what he’s gonna do when he goes see his family.”
Inner muse: “But he dies right?”
me: “Shit.”
there was that book/reviewer site I wanted to view a bit more, bu I’ll have to find it in my archives. I’m not ready to make an account yet - there’s some early chapters I want to update, primarily add in some chapters and context. Still trying to get done with this book
there’s been some delays. But I’m entering into this new chapter ark, and I’m excited to write it.
I think I mentioned this before, but I’ve been slowly picking away at my scifi adventure book. Fuckers long. So I decided to chop it up into three books (aside from the prequel book I use as a ref and I want to/must rewrite).
Y’know how they say “Write the juicy, fun bits first”? I said fuck it, I’ll turn these books into a massive mess of inconsistencies and work out the details later. I have too many pages of outlines and shit to remind myself how this is supposed to go down, it’s ridiculous.
One book follows the story of Rezsarot - all seeing - God of Patience and plenty. His class is military, though his job is to nullify war and supply final judgment. He’s good boy.
Another book follows the story of Gais - of a million arms to hold the souls of his fallen favorites - God of famine and grief. He’s a priest and he’s seen some bad shit. He wages war on Teiqun Yeth - which is basically death, cataclysm, and extinction.
It’s brought up in story why they are referred to as deities, and Gais does explain that it’s in part a translation error, and another part they’ve been fighting wars for eons that their kind have glamorized the old stories - as is typical in cultures. At the same time, Gais and Rezsarot have very specific duties to supply to their species as these guardians of a specific sect with diversified responsibilities.
And also these two were touched by Teiqun Yeth without being destroyed, so bonus points.

“Shit, for the first time I’m not going to go over my page limit. Good job me.”
