Not related to your question, but really quick tangent: I love when Tumblr doesn't give me notifications. I really do. I'll hear nothing from this app for days only to go open it and boom! A bunch of interactions and messages I didn't know existed three days ago. Thanks Tumblr. Questions in particular it just won't ever notify me. Love that.
Anyways, an actual answer. I started shipping HenRay WAY back when. Probably freshman year? Maybe Sophomore, not to sure. That obviously put me in the same age range or near to many of the actors. And my general philosophy for when I was a teen was to find the two characters that would be problematic together and get right on to shipping them. I probably saw a few episodes of Henry Danger, thought to myself 'Ha, I wonder if anyone ships Henry and Ray. No way they do.' and to then hit up Ao3 and promptly fall head first into the rabbit hole. I don't watch many sitcoms, primarily because I don't like sitcoms lol, so HenRay is my only stand out ship because somehow Henry Danger got around my dislike for laugh tracks. I can't really give much more of a reason of why I like HenRay, other than I just enjoy reading taboo topics (that the show itself also seemed to love to indulge in), but especially after Danger Force I love it a little more because of Ray's characterization. Hes so pathetic 💕 I can see why a lot of people probably find it weird, but as I've grown older I've started to default to Danger Force for HenRay as the Older Henry works far better for the ship imo.
