my soul just left my fucking body. its pitch black in my room, fan going, quiet, and I was reading on my phone. all of the sudden i feel something big crawling onto my bed and i turned my phone slightly to see what it is and all i could see was a bright white mark surrounded by black with big eyes staring silently at me.

it was my fucking dog. my dog managed to get upstairs and into my room without me hearing her (impressive because the floors creak like crazy). she just wanted cuddles, but as shes very big and mostly black (with some white and brown), i couldng see her in the dark and thought something got in the house.

she was very annoyed that i didnt immediately pet her as i was actively having a heart attack

i watched the supergirl movie the other day. fucking loved it. i loved the dynamics between kara and ruthye. one minor thing bothered me, they had a scene where kara was saying green suns could kill her, cool detail within the different suns, different effects thing, however. earths sun is green. our atmosphere simply filters those wavelengths out due to the reflection of the sea. so it doesn't make sense for green suns to kill her, when the earths sun is green. does the green effect only happen when the atmosphere isn't filtering the wavelengths out? anyways great movie

The problem with studying the deep ocean is that humans need light to look at things, the depths of the ocean are extremely dark, and what lives there is accustomed to spending most of its time in that darkness. So when we go down there with submersibles and turn on Big Lights to see, we invariably and dramatically alter what's going on, in the same way that it's generally difficult to observe the natural behaviors of terrestrial animals if you whip out a megaphone and shout HEY GUYS WHAT ARE YOU DOING at them first.
