A spark of light, fleeing away as the dark engulfs it

Orange and red and blue

Sweet and warm in a chilling night fall

What was I supposed to do?

  Dripping fever, small and bright

The crack you trickled through

Closed and clogged so I couldn’t follow

Why can I not go, too?

  Lost and alone in quiet starlight

Shadows ringing true

Footsteps linger in a silent hallway

Who am I without you?

  A fallen curtain, a broken spotlight

You fell down, forgot your cue

You dimmed and died without a care

I am nothing without you.

I will FULLY admit that I am running behind but, I found this awesome writing challenge, and I decided that I want to participate! .
