I just cannot get over the fact how Laios is just this perfect representation and might I say even a sort of "realistic wishfulfillment" for autistic people. And we normally just do not get that. Because normally when there are autistic coded characters part of their arc is basically to become better at masking. It is just what is expected of an autistic character in media.

But not Laios. While, yes, he does learn to at times think more before he offers others the thing that seems most obvious to him, in the end... he is the chosen one, because he has the right hyperfixation.

And everyone else learns to accept and value him for it. He is basically the prophecized king, because he hyperfixated on monsters his entire life.

The biggest irony is of course, that he never set out to be a king or a hero or anything. He just wanted to experience new stuff and see cool monsters xD
