Happy disability pride month! This time last year, I was looking at all of those posts and wishing that I could participate because of the pain I was in even though I didn’t have a diagnosis! Guess what! This year I still don’t have a real diagnosis but I’ve made so many wonderful friends and had so much support from the disability community! Anyways, here’s to an easy, low-pain disability pride month for all of us!

Yall I did it!!! I finished stitching the team autoimmune pattern (by @shitpostsampler ) I started this in early may with the hopes of finishing it in a week and a half... yeah no. This was my first time using waste canvas and stitching on knit fabric. It's hard!

In January I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks your gi tract, causing inflammation and ulcers. I have gastro-duodnal and ileo-cecal involvement, which makes me a bit higher risk for complications.

The goal was to have this ready to wear to my loading dose of the biologic Ustekimenab (stelara) but instead, I'll wear it to my June gi appointment!

Found out my Hashimotos is getting worse like I thought. My doctor put me on 75mcg of thyroid meds instead of the 50 I was on before. I've been feeling really run down, depressed, sensitive to cold, and I've been gaining weight quickly. I got down to 185lbs only a few months ago and now I'm back up to almost 195.

The doctor said she thought getting the Hashimotos better controlled might help with some of my other problems, but who knows. Honestly it seemed like she didn't know what she was talking about for most of this visit. I'm just happy I'm going on more thyroid meds cause I know I could use it. One day a week I was supposed to take double my regular dose, and I always felt better the day I took the higher dose.

I hate being reminded that I cannot, in fact, just “power through” the disability I should be able to go do fun activities 2 days in a row and not be confined to a dark room in pain and nauseous this is ridiculous I shouldn’t have to sacrifice living for feeling okay. Bleghhhhhhhh
