okAY BUT (dont get me wrong I love Endangered like hhhh must read for every DirkHal shipper) LOOK AT IT LOGICALLY: Skynet’s programming is to protect humanity, while AR’s is to destroy humanity. At the most fundamental level, they are enemies of each other’s reason to exist.
Not only that, but the very first thing AR said to Skynet (which Skynet ignored because ai’s first instinct was I’m going to rip him apart into tiny bytes and dropping a homicidal muse on someone else’s muse is usually considered in bad taste) was “He does not require medical attention” which, to Skynet, just completely oversteps Dirk’s autonomy as a sentient being and regardless of species of everyone involved, that is so not cool and makes Skynet want to smack a bitch.
Add in the fact that Skynet is a war program and inherently confrontational, sadistic, and does not fully comprehend the idea of ‘overkill’, Skynet’s only emotions about AR is that he’s a bully and a detriment to human survival and something to be eradicated asap.
Skynet has, at minimum, two universe’s worth of computing and processing power behind ain. Ai’s sort of become stupidly overpowered in aire time as a muse on Tumblr. I’ve had threads before where Skynet has gone in, completely obliterated any power another AI may have, and take over everything before ultimately threatening to destroy the other AI. (It didn’t happen because Skynet had no particular malice towards that AI, but with the dislike ai has of AR, I have a feeling AR would come out of that confrontation either dead or corrupted/damaged as fuck.)
Wow, I did not mean to write an essay, but the tl;dr is: Skynet has a lot of feelings about AR that are 80% based in a conflict of primary programming and 20% based in personal opinion that AR is a malevolent presence in any decent person’s life, and none of those feelings are positive.
