That depends on who you ask. Some idiotic people decide that exotic pets are wonderful status symbols and then wonder what went wrong when they realise they can no longer handle an animal they never truly cared about. Personally, I enjoy the company of my cat and he’s also a good friend for my daughter. There’s also the price of trying to rescue species that are dying out so spending money to get the medicine they need.

I pride myself on my intelligence. There are certainly worse states to be in but at least you’re surviving.

Absolutely, consider my curiosity satisfied at least on the state of your world. How far has technology advanced?

Animal species die all the time. Why do you rescue them? I guess I can understand the companionship of an animal in theory, but rescuing wild animals makes even less sense. 

Good, intelligence is a helpful tool to have on your side. That’s what helps our compound keep going.

Android technology is advanced to the point that I can’t even understand it. Meanwhile, we’re left fixing old, broken technology that’s been left behind by the society we no longer have.
