Didn’t mean to Stare

It wasn’t that Drakonna hadn’t ever seen another like herself. It was the pride of any dragon to be able to change form. Or at least it was when she last had left the Sanctuary on a search a long while ago. Those she protected had little use for the skill now. So it had been a very long time.
And she assumed he was a true dragon, instead of what she was. Some other magical being who’d been merged with a dragon at a young age. She fiddled with her ornate staff and wondered. A rare smile curving up her lips and she remembered her manners when he introduced himself.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Lord Lasair. I am Drakonna the Sorceress and am at your service.” she gave him a graceful bow, though her eyes never looked away from him. He seemed friendly enough, but Dragon’s were and always would be an unpredictable lot. Still, she was pleasantly astounded, her own silvery green tail flicking behind her.
“I am actually here... because of you. I’m the guardian of the Great Dragon Sanctuary and I had heard there might be dragons in these parts. So I came to see if the rumors were true, and to offer sanctuary to any who wanted.”
