   09:30am _ 4th negotiation with MSVU financial services about the more than $400,-- they owe me for making me pay an entire academic year of health insurance in september. sorting out how to get the money as they 1. can't transfer it electronically 2. can't give me CAD cash 3. can't give me USD cash 4. can't figure out how to give me a cheque BEFORE handing back my bus pass (what means that i can't get to a bank anymore)

03:00pm _ cancelling tea w/ L. & A. because of the heavy rain

03:15pm _ selling my AV comm (mandatory!!) textbook to the used book store - getting back $4,- for my $21.81 investment. bad investment.

03:30pm _ donating my sleeping bag to the recreation center

04:00pm _ checking back with the medical center if they need any informations regarding the cancelled insurance service. while leaving the rosaria center the admin lady calls me back and hands me... ANOTHER POSTCARD!!! #lovelovelove

04:50pm _ catching the last service person at royal bank canada (before they close at 05:00pm), getting USD, paying $5,-- service fee for the friggin cheque -.-

05:00pm _ shopping! the very last gifts for my austrian folks, including sparkly penisses (don't ask).

06:00pm _ veggie burrito at burrito jax, being late for the cocktail-date w/ L.

06:10pm _ taking my burrito to the cocktail bar, eating it in front of the bar in the rain

08:00pm _ being slightly wasted after 4 martinis and lots of guy-talk with fabuous L., celebrating our very last evening together w/ our friends pink pussy martini, lychee martini, sail away martini, riviera martini and a gin-martini-tonic-thingy

   09:00pm _ catching the bus home, being heavily fascinated by the amount of water pouring out of the heavenz

09:30pm _ I INSTANTANEOUSLY NEED TO CUT MY HAIR! posting an emergency-shout in our residence-group on facebook, borrowing a pair of butterfly-scissors from A.

10:00pm _ sending a picture of my new haircut to L. - her reponse:

she's referring to my half-shaved head that i cut down to almost zero instead of 0.5cm (because i forgot the piece for the electric shaving device thingy). and i cut my bangs in a quite... errrm... punky way. straight bangs are so yesterhour!

yesterday was the first day of my haligonian time except for travelling that i actually didn't post something on polyping... must be final week of school.

well, booked a cab to get to the airport together with C. & P. today in 2 weeks (argh!!), had my last mass media class (and we finally uploaded our finished team paper assignment, thank god), went to vinnie's pub twice for cranberry drinks (including a fabulous conversation with M.), didn't do any yoga since last friday because of the crazy schedule (i miss it so much!), got incredibly annoyed by people who don't care about anything, missed ethics class yesterday because i overslept, and spent 8 hours in the editing suite on tuesday (2-10pm) for the AV team video assignment:

up next: AV test in 3 hours, finishing the science comm journal tomorrow, and getting started for the final, final, final assignment - the mass media individual term paper. plus, trying to arrange a variety of farewell activities and cram them into my last two weeks. chakkah!

what a weekend!

incredibly inspirational keynote speech by A. (and being reminded of the fact that she's born 1990, like my little brother), some drinks with fabulous L., seeing K. again after almost 3 weeks, administrating my homecoming-technicalities with a variety of family members, chatting with glamorous G., editing the mass media team paper, finishing my science paper, AND handing in the journal for av comm.

the downside of all that busy-ness: i missed yoga class today because i was too hungover for the 12:00 session and found out that the 06:30pm session actually started at 05:00pm. gnah.

however, only one week (!) of school left! last day of classes is MON, dec 3rd. ergo: endspurt!

Excellent podcast. Very informative, fun and stylish. Very well-researched. You set context for the issue very well. I learned a lot. Provocative at times. Very enjoyable.

The tone is certainly working well, especially considering the younger audience, and you set the provocative at times cheeky tone from the beginning (the knife sound helps too, I think…although it scared me..ha,ha).  Very catchy intro, by the way (we are going to convert you…).

You are considering the science literacy of the audience, which is excellent. Since the Convention on Biological diversity is presumably a science event, it is excellent to hear that you have included research. Just curious: where does this convention stand on vegetarism? If they are neutral, I would make that clear.

At points the music intrudes on the voiceover…and is distracting. You can certainly do that, and should do that, but do it sparing. Music up and then music down…use the music strategically—perhaps to emphasis a point. But there needs to be silence. At once point I wanted to tune out at times, despite the interesting content.

The interview is a great addition. I’m so glad you actually interviewed someone. Just a technical note: fridges and other appliances create what is called Rf noise. It sounds as though Nick tried to remove it, but it is distracting.

You switch between editorial stances and fact research, which is working. Excellent voicework.

I think it would help to break up some of the informative sections. Maybe sound, maybe a scene…(imagine a cow is standing in this field…paint pictures for us and tell a kind of story at times to break up the facts you deliver so well.

Great music choice. It fits the tone. Very appropriate—and not just because of the great titles. I was humming one song for a little while afterwards. Great to see you considered music copyright by using creative commons.

that's the amount of comments (!!!) i received on a single facebook post, asking about austrian cuss words. it's 189 minus 3 from me, thanking people for their "inputs" ;-)

why the **** am i asking for cuss?

well, we're doing a PR video for the audiovisual class, and my team mates asked me to swear in austrian-german in one scene where i get angry about strawberries. sounds strange? hell yeah it is. we'll shoot next MON, the video is due on NOV 29th. stay tuned ;-)

awesome group meeting is awesome

i just have to mention this: we had the best group meeting experience today like ever. the meeting was set for 03:00pm, everyone was exactly on time (including E. who entered the paperchase by 03:01pm), the meeting was both structured and very creative, and we came up with hilarious idea for our audiovisual video project plus agreed on dates for the shooting and discussed some technicalities. by exactly 04:00pm, we were finished and everyone went her way. i really appreciate this kind of commitment.

and no, we're not founding a new student society for lifehacks. but almost ;-)
