Stolen Kiss

So, it’s @fireflyxrebel‘s birthday today, and I wanted to do a ‘lil something for her. SO HERE, AVA, HAVE YOUR FAVE CRACKSHIP! Sorry if it’s terrible, I wrote this quickly. XD

Jump City was gloomy, just like her. 

Starfire peered out from beneath the overhang with nothing but a dull sigh, her mood in the gutters alongside the rushing stormwater. Robin was being troublesome again tonight, shoving her aside to work yet another case. He hadn’t meant to be harsh, she knew, but her mood was soiled and trodden on regardless. 

She just...worried about him. A lot. He was, as her friends said, broody, and would sometimes forgo food and drink when he entered such a state. Starfire knew she was probably a little too forceful in trying to coerce him into eating dinner, but by X’hal, did he try her patience tonight. So she’d left in a huff, her eyes and fists smoldering, and decided to do a nightly patrol. It was low crime season, anyway, so Starfire felt no need to call for backup. Besides, with weather like this, even the most dastardly criminals elected to stay indoors. 

Starfire reached out, letting the raindrops fall into her outstretched palm. The droplets fizzled and evaporated on contact, a sensation Starfire found soothing. This was one thing about earth she couldn’t get enough of; rain. It had little effect on her body, seeing how she was far warmer than the average human. Of course, even she could get soaked in a downpour such as this, so Starfire figured it was best to hide out beneath the balcony and wait out the night. 

A loud explosion caught Starfire’s attention. She was up and in the air at the blink of an eye, racing through the downpour towards the commotion. It was a bank downtown; one of the bigger ones. And her eyes picked up a familiar form bearing the white, skull-faced mask rolling into the street. Her eyes narrowed. 

Red-X. 

Starfire was on him in an instant, her fist glowing green in the low light. “I would not move,” she said, “unless you wish me to do the blowing up of your face.” 

The masked marauder chuckled, seemingly unalarmed at her presence. “Well, howdy, Princess.” He glanced about, amusement filling his demeanor. “Is it just you and I, tonight? I’m quite flattered.” 

Starfire suppressed a growl. Her glowing fist grew even brighter, and she leered close to the irritating villain. “Yes, it is just I, and unless you wish to be marked, I suggest you turn yourself in.” 

Red-X seemed to consider her warning for a moment, before letting out a snort. “Nah, I think I’d rather not. Thanks for the offer, Princess.” He rolled out from beneath her, vaulting off into the rain. Starfire blinked, hissing in annoyance. She gave chase, ignoring the stinging bite of the raindrops against her skin. 

They zipped through the streets of Jump, Starfire hot on the thief’s heels. The few times no civilians were in sight, Starfire let off a barrage of starbolts, only for them to implode in a spectacular green array of sparks, missing her target. Rain pelted her skin and dripped into her eyes, forcing Starfire to blink. She almost missed the jagged edge of Red-X’s cape disappearing into an alleyway, and she banked sharply to follow. 

Only, the turn was too sharp, and Starfire rammed into a brick wall with enough force to crumble the delicate stone work. She staggered, groaning. A pair of hands grabbed at her shoulders, and Starfire let off a bolt with a yelp. There was a cry of pain, and she blinked in time to see Red-X pawing at his mask. She’d only nicked him; enough to singe his chin. 

“Dammit!” he said, pain lacing his tone. “Thanks, princess.” With a flash, a rod was brushing against his nose. Starfire scowled, glaring at the villain. He’d pulled up the burnt mask, revealing his lips and nose, but otherwise kept the smoldering fabric on. She knew he was hiding his eyes from her, a smart move. But despite how easy it would be to bat his puny weapon aside, Starfire couldn’t. 

She stared at Red-X’s chin, transfixed. Red-X typically wore a full-body suit; she’d never seen so much as a sliver of his skin before. The appearance made him seem less human, and more...villainous. He was a bad guy, who did bad things because he could. And yet now, it was like the curtain was pulled back. There was a real human under that mask, and by the look of that square jawline, an attractive one. 

Starfire flushed, her scowl deepening. 

“You’re pretty cute when you’re mad, you know that?” There was a smile on his lips as he spoke, and Starfire felt her face grow even hotter. He leaned close, his smile dissolving into a smirk. Boldly, he reached out and brushed a wet strand of hair from her eyes. Starfire froze. 

She knew she should stop him. Light up a bolt, shoot him in the face, whatever. But for some inexplicable reason, the thief had her entranced. Their lips brushed, and Starfire’s eyes fluttered closed. But the kiss never came. A sudden chill came over her, and when she blinked her eyes open, she was alone. A curse sprung from her lips, and Starfire lit up the dumpster. 

Yet despite her anger, she couldn’t banish the feeling of their almost kiss from her mind...

Raven doesn't really know what it's like to have a parental relationship that's healthy, and seeing as how little Bruce likes her hanging out with his kids, she's terrified of meeting the Doom Patrol and Gar's adoptive mother, Rita Farr. However, the gang of misfits more than welcome her like she was their own daughter, and Rita never stops fawning over her. She instantly loves Raven, knowing how happy she makes Gar being enough for her to treat her like she was her own.

Rita would so love Raven. She’d also love seeing her baby boy be happy with her. :)

When their first pet passes away (it was a good doggo), Gar openly grieves while Raven comes off as monotone as ever. Everyone wonders if she really just found the critter annoying, but one night, about a week later, Gar wakes up to Raven crying and feeling sick in the bathroom (sadness and grief are very powerful and overcoming emotions). He doesn't say anything. He just holds her, kisses her forehead, and keeps her hair out of the way when she needs to throw up.

But yeah, as much as Raven pretends to be indifferent, we all know she loves her friends and cherished them greatly. The same goes for pets, hands down. She’d be just as devastated as Gar, but would absolutely show it differently.

Beast Boy and his band perform at Kori and Dick's wedding. Raven is both mortified and proud of her boyfriend.

Oh my god yes.

He plays the guitar and sings and everything. XD All out, no holding back, he belts out every rock song he knows. (Drinks may or may not be involved… XD)

He does pretty good though, and he totally serenades Raven. 💚💜

Slade/Titan ships. I mean, you'd think that goes without saying, but APPARENTLY. Anyways, they're gross, manipulative, based on hate and anger and other disgusting concepts like r/a/pe, and if they could burn in hell, I'd appreciate it. IDC if it's a plot device to get Starfire to crawl into Robin's arms, or Raven to do the same. IT'S GROSS and those girls deserve better. Not to mention, they can handle themselves. Don't even get me started on Sladin or BB/Slade. UGH.

AGREED.

Let’s also not forget that Slade is often an adult and the Titans are often kids, and that’s pedophilia. The only storylines where that is written well is when it’s depicting this as WRONG, not romanticizing it.

So yeah. These ships are pretty disturbing, and definitely on the “I DON’T WANT” list.

The second she's gotten a positive pregnancy test, she comes back to find one of the spare rooms in the Tower full of baby things, a crib, toys, etc. Everything else in the building has a child lock on it. Somewhere, Cyborg is screaming.

Before anyone can process what’s happening, Beast Boy buys out the entire Baby’s R Us.

The worst: BB/Rae/Terra love triangle trope. (Kill it. Burn it with fire. Pour salt into its wounds).

1 (Terrible) - 2 (Bleh) - 3 (It’s okay, I guess) - 4 (I like this) - 5 (YOU CAN PRY THIS FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS)

Ava is right, this is literally the worst trope. 

Okay, one of the worst. 

Here’s the thing; BB loved Terra. He did. But notice I used past tense. That is because while yes, he loved her, it was a young and new love that, thanks to the heartbreak, betrayal, and death, died out and extinguished. 

Now, there’s always going to be a little bit within him that loves her, but Beast Boy isn’t the type of guy to pursue multiple ladies at once. When he falls in love, he falls hard. We saw this with Terra, and I know he’d do the same with Raven. 

There is no one else. 

Plus, this trope often utilizes character bashing, which is the worst thing ever known to mankind. Or, at least, fandomkind. Character bashing is massively disrespectful to any body of work, especially since it usually involves zero genuine criticism and is just users insulting and berating characters. 

And I hate it. 

So yeah, don;t try to pass any love triangles my way.
