Is this what 50 looks like? Black Women's Hour at 50 (episodes)
It's our anniversary, and tomorrow we'll be dropping our 50th episode of @hour_womans tomorrow. Did you know you can catch us on all the platforms (not just Youtube) - subscribe and listen now!
Not this 50 😂 Followers of me on Twitter will know that I’ve been a regular on the Black Woman’s Hour podcast for the past two years. The anniversary of my debut on the pod has just passed. And you may recall, I joined as a guest on episode 3, and it’s nice to think we are still going and have hit the milestone of 50 episodes. We did take a longer than planned hiatus last summer (it wasn’t just…

Hey you!
Do you know what intersectional feminism is? This question has been asked many times before, but still majority of cis male society don’t even know what it means. This is in no way surprising seeing as to how the average cis male can’t come to terms as to what feminism means as a whole. But, what may even surprise more people is that according to a 2015 article on women’s life; “The Feminist movement is in danger of losing momentum unless it recognizes that not every feminist is white, middle-class, cis-gendered, and able-bodied.” Vidal, A. (2014, January 15) So how does this relate to intersectional feminism? Well, intersectionality must do with multiple identities intersecting and overlapping with each other that places one outside of what society categorizes as “normal”. And, what certain people may lead you to believe but, “feminism” is not just about women, it has a broader and richer signification.
Is it safe to agree that the feminist movement is indeed close to losing the momentum it has built up because of how “feminism” is categorized? I believe so when considering that if you look at social media and most of reports that are done on feminism, they are mostly represented by white cis females. An example of this can easily be seen by googling “recent news in feminism” and clicking any of the articles that come up. Let’s just say what you will see will overall will not be a surprise. can be somewhat saddening that we can advance so far in technology, but when it comes society we still have much to learn. When we start to think about the different identities, roles, profiles, etc. that come along with being a “different” and what those intricacies entail, then hopefully the voices that also need to be heard will finally get a chance.

“The view that women experience oppression in varying configurations and in varying degrees of intensity. Cultural patterns of oppression are not only interrelated, but are bound together and influenced by the intersectional systems of society. Examples of this include race, gender, class, ability, and ethnicity.”

Today's feminist movement is said to be in danger of losing momentum unless it recognises that not every feminist is white, middle class, cis-gendered and able bodied.

Nigel Farage just can't stop getting his arse handed to him by comedians on Twitter
If you're Nigel Farage - or whoever pretends to be him on Twitter - and you're trying to convince people Andrew Lawrence was right and not just a bitter, misguided sexist, racist buffoon, how should you respond to criticism?
With more veiled sexism, that's what!
Articles in the Telegraph & Sun about UKIP following Andrew Lawrence's comments? They do like to moan, don't they? http://t.co/y63uWKiIpt

Unfortunately for the social media intern pretending to be Nigel today, they picked on Ava Vidal.
And here's Ava's response...
Bless you @Nigel_Farage. Thanks for the mention http://t.co/ON70CQXauj How sweet!

.@Nigel_Farage'd remember we were on This Week together had he not caned so much free red wine he looked like he'd given a pig cunnilingus.
— Ava Vidal (@thetwerkinggirl) October 30, 2014
And...
Perfectly happy for @Nigel_Farage to not know who I am in case he or one of his ilk try to have me deported to Bongo Bongo land.
— Ava Vidal (@thetwerkinggirl) October 30, 2014
Here's the original article that got 'Nigel' so upset.
Pity the poor person running the Nigel 'Pig Cunnilingus' Farage account this afternoon...
@thetwerkinggirl @LiberalIsland @Nigel_Farage And not even him. He can't use twitter

There are some people that will complain about everything, there really are. People who are like, 'Oh my god! Baa Baa Black Sheep! Racist!' You know, 'Blackboard! Racist!' And there's a word for those people, and that word is white, because we don't complain about that stuff. We've got like, real shit to deal with.
