Rating the best Lin Beifong Faces throughout the series (spoilers)
Up first we have this classic Holding a Grudge face, something Lin has really perfected and probably used at least once a day. When around family, this face usually means she's about to dig up old family drama everyone else has let go of. Classic *chefs kiss*
Deciding to Save the Dumb Avatar 8/10
Scores points for accidentally looking like a model while watching Korra shoot into the air in a water spout only to fall from that water spout .02 seconds later and require an ass-saving. I theorize the reason this face isn't more angry is because she hasn't processed Korra's stupidity yet.
Not really a face but a Whole Ass Mood.
Seeing Mom for the First Time in 20 Years 999999/10
This is actually important. You really had to pause on this moment to catch it, because she could mask her words with an indifferent attitude, but not her face, not right away. This is Lin seeing Toph for the first time since their last big argument 20 years ago, and this expression honestly shows a more youthful and innocent side of Lin than even her flashbacks did. There's a lot in those eyes. Animators take note.

Trying To Sacrifice Herself (Again) 11/10
Lin "I'll create a diversion" Beifong back at it again. It's very heroic and all that she consistently puts others before herself, but now I want a storyline in the graphic novels where Lin learns to love HERSELF. Although after all these times of trying to sacrifice herself, she still hasn't been killed so maybe she just can't die. Maybe she yeets off a cliff every night yelling "COME GET ME YOU HOOLIGAN ROCKS" and wakes up in bed the next morning, unharmed. I bet that's it.
I couldn't leave this off the list. This is the best. The lighting, the hand, the context that she's having a last-word gesture fight with a teenager... it's perfect. This is the kind of image Korra and Asami set as Lin's profile picture on the official police laminated badges and blames Mako for it. This belongs engraved on Republic City's highest currency, because it's gold.
