Rodan had honestly not been expecting visits, specially not after everything that had happened. He was not going to admit he was nervous as Mothra approached his island, fearing she’d be accompanied by the king, and even after it became clear Gojira wasn’t there, he was still uneasy, because Mothra was a creature to fear on her own. Rodan was not ready for a fight, he was perched on the brim of his volcano to let the lava covering him cool and harden to repair his armor.
When the moth titan chirped in greeting, Rodan felt relief wash over him. He let out a greeting noise of his own, though it was a squawk instead of a chirp.
Mothra studied Rodan’s form, though she tried to be discreet with her staring. He seemed to be in much better condition than when she’d last seen of him, and in better spirits too, now that she made known her lack of animosity. She was not so shortsighted as to believe his attack against her had been a personal one. Faced with a hydra, he made the right choice to bow than to fight.
{{You look well. I am glad.}} She spoke to him through thought. {{How’s your new home? The humans haven’t been bothering you, I hope?}}
