Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game brings together characters from different points of the franchise for dynamic 2D fights.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a fascinating new way to explore the franchise, seeing the classic characters face each other in battle. The fast-paced 2D action is enjoyably dynamic, and the developers managed to make each character feel unique while also having enough universal gameplay elements so that the learning curve isn’t too hard for any of them. The only things that keep it from greatness are some kinks here and there that can hopefully be fixed in the future.

Moonlight Peaks is a life simulation game with a supernatural twist, making you a vampire witch who can date other creatures.

Moonlight Peaks has an interesting concept and enjoyable cast to interact with. Nonetheless, the game still feels like it could use extra polish to truly pop as a compelling contender in the life sim genre. For those who love the context of supernatural beings, it may provide times of whimsy, but the genre has many better options to pick when it comes to gameplay systems and quality of life.

Split Fiction Follows In It Takes Two's Footsteps

The studio behind It Takes Two is back with another fun co-op adventure.

Split Fiction is, in many ways, a spiritual successor to 2021's It Takes Two, boasting an identical gameplay loop and story structure to its predecessor and continuing Hazelight's running emphasis on two-player co-op. It's shorter, more expensive, and while it may not have the originality or variety of It Takes Two, it still manages to create an entertaining and captivating experience for both players.

Monster Hunter Wilds is a fun experience and has all the staples that make the series so enjoyable. Unfortunately, some choices make it hard to enjoy yourself for a significant amount of time while making your way to the portion of the game that you’re trying to experience. The main story aims to provide players with a more immersive experience, but ends up getting in the way of the fighting monsters at a reliable pace, forcing you from point A to B frequently before allowing you to engage with these newly-added monsters.

Rogue Flight brings modernization to the genre while keeping the nostalgia in tow with a story, unlocks and a roguelike mode.

Players looking for a sci-fi retro shooter experience with a bit of modernization will no doubt enjoy Rogue Flight out of the box. The replayability comes into question as it comes off more grindy than an arcade shooter or the unlockable roguelike mode should.

Review: Broken Roads

Broken Roads is a cult classic in the making. It hearkens to the best parts of games like Fallout 2, and many other CRPGs of the '90s, and it fits right in alongside classic Fallout and the Wasteland games. It’s flawed in some areas, with bugs in spots, but it offers tremendous role-playing and storytelling that make it more than worth your time to spend upwards of thirty or more hours in post-apocalyptic Australia.
