The Metropolis Police Departments form a joint SWAT and SCU taskforce to deal with the Parasite problem once and for all once they get word from Undertown. The denizens of below apparently want the Parasite out of their realm, and are willing to play ball with the MPD to get him gone. Thus, at the behest of the Mayor and at the insistence of Chief Henderson, Captains Maggie Sawyer and Kevin Jones get their men and women ready for the mission.

What could possibly go wrong?

Heather Sawyer and Jasmine Chidi really do have the most rotten luck: the day of their return to SWAT after their mandated block of leave turns out to be the day that a special operation is kicking off. Apparently, a Zero Point Module is being brought to STAR Labs for analysis. However, the rumors are abound that this is actually a trap set for the Parasite.

At the end of the day, though, Heather discovers that the most dangerous threat might not come from a Meta, but from normal humans. What can of worms has she opened this time?

World’s Finest ch. 6

The time has come for Diana's interview with Avery on her radio show. It being such an important day, Akko decides to do something a little special for her that morning. Later, well after the interview is said and done, Avery reveals something important, and Diana and Akko decide to invite her to an important event that's coming up.

World’s Finest ch. 2

Avery Tremblay is walking home in Metropolis when her phone receives a notification that there is a metahuman attack going on. Rather than continue on her way, she calls upon her instincts as a reporter and investigates, something that leads her to a roadblock where a familiar detective is assisting beat cops in manning the perimeter. Avery simply can't resist the urge to talk to her.

Later, after the attack is over, Akko and Diana take the time to talk to each other and deepen their relationship through the act of supporting one another.
