ASHFORD VALLEY FIRE DEPT. CARNIVAL
WHAT: carnival put on by the local fire department as a fundraiser
WHEN: July 16th - 18th 5pm - 10pm EST (*Saturday is open until 11pm)
WHERE: Ashford Valley Fire Company Parking Area
What's summertime without a carnival to attend? Ashford Valley Fire Department is putting on their annual carnival fundraiser and you're all invited to attend! Be sure to stop by the fire company's pizza booth for some food or drinks, though there's other food trucks with goodies spread out as well! Plus have fun and try your hand at one of the games or get some tickets for the rides! And, if you're feeling up to it, stay until dusk and find a good spot to watch the fireworks show to end the night! view a map of the carnival area and places to park right here! carnival area is labeled and marked with a light blue box, the school parking lots and two shopping plazas (labeled and marked with green boxes), plus on the side street parking is available for parking and walking to the carnival

Though the in-game time for the event is on Saturday, 7/18, from 5pm - 11pm EST, interactions for the event can begin starting tomorrow, 7/17 at 12pm EST and the event will be played out until next Friday, 7/24 11:59pm EST. Please tag all of your event starters with avhqevent003 and avhqeventstarter. You don't have to reply to every open starter - we're confident that this group won't leave anyone feeling left out, so please don't let yourselves get overwhelmed with replies.
UPCOMING: ASHFORD VALLEY FIRE DEPT CARNIVAL
We wanted to give a sneak peek of the upcoming event, just in case anyone wants to plot interactions or anything with their characters. The carnival itself is running from Thursday, July 16th through to Saturday, July 18th, opening each day at 5pm and running until 10pm.
Though the carnival runs for 3 days, we figured to make everything easier on everyone and keep us all on the same page, the event itself is only for Saturday, the final day of the carnival. The last day of the carnival also ends with fireworks at dusk! So the event itself will take place in-game on Saturday, July 18th, from 5pm - 11pm EST; interactions for the event however will be able to start Friday, July 17th, at 12pm EST and run through to Friday, July 24th, at 11:59pm EST.
Just as we do with all of our events, we will make an official event post the day before the event starts, listing more details of what the event will include! You can also view the previous posts from when we did the carnival event two summers ago, here!

Come join us for the Ashford Valley's Annual Town Hall Halloween Bash, celebrating spooky season on Halloween night!The Ashford Valley Town Hall banquet area will be transformed into a ghostly party space for all residents of the town, ages 21+. There will there be live music, free food & non-alcoholic drinks, plus the bar will have drinks for low prices (beer & wine $3, mixed drinks $5 and $1 shots), there will be a room set up for a haunted walkthrough, an open room with various games & activities and a basket raffle! Plenty of entertainment to enjoy and support your small town! Plus, don't forget to enter the costume contest, winners will be announced near the end of the night!

The spooky, haunted walkthrough, eyeball beer pong, boozy bobbing for apples (with spiked apple cider), Thriller flip cup, Good Witch Bad Witch coin flip, Halloween bingo, scary movie trivia, pin the tail on the werewolf. (drinking game credits and since the video we last used for the haunted walkthrough was made private - here is a brief description: set up in a maze-style layout animatronics from Spirit Halloween and spooky decor around every corner with, fake cobwebs, a few blackout curtains separating a few areas, near the end a bunch of cornstalks set up to represent a cornfield/outdoor vibe and jump-scare animatronic hidden amongst them, no real people/scare actors it's all animatronics and fake decor. Enter the Town Hall Halloween Bash Costume Contest!
In the spirit of Halloween, for the upcoming event, we are holding a costume contest open for everyone in the RP! There will be a few ways to enter and each participant will be assigned a number so that we can select the prize winners using a randomizer to keep it fair. There will be a total of 6 categories:

See below on how to enter your character and when to have your entries posted or submitted by!
OPTION 1: Post a photo of your character in costume. Now this could be done via the style of an instagram post or just a simple photo post. Photos can be a manip of your character's fc in costume or a photo found online of someone in the costume your character would be wearing (be sure to credit the original photo somewhere, whether linking on the post or in the source). OPTION 2: Post a wardrobe template of your character's costume. Templates can be found here: x, x, x, x (or you can browse this tag for more options!) OPTION 3: Send a message to the main with a full detail of your character's costume.
The contest will begin on Friday, October 24th and you can start posting your entries or submitting the detailed descriptions from then until Thursday, October 30th 11:59pm EST so that we can then run the randomization for the winners and announce them on the dash on Halloween night, October 31st. In-game pretend that the announcement was made at midnight the night of the party, October 25th.
To make sure that we don't miss any of the posts, we'll utilize the channel in the discord server for everyone who is posting a photo to link their post there and we will make sure to let everyone know who we've received entries for before the random drawing of the prize winners, so we can make sure that no one is left out.
Sneak Peek at our Town Hall Halloween Bash Event!
Once again, as previous mentioned on the main, we are gearing up for our Halloween event, a big party for the whole town being held at Ashford Valley Town Hall on Saturday, October 25th! Much like the first time we had this event, there will be the costume contest, a table with raffle baskets, a room with games, and a room with a small haunted walkthrough (though no scare actors, just animatronics and fun decorations set up) plus the main room will have food, drinks, and a dance floor!
As always, we will have more information posted closer to the date of the event, usually a day before hand, but you can read all about the previous Town Hall Halloween Bash event here to prep for the costume contest and the party in general! We hope that you're all as excited as we are for our 7th event! And if you're not a part of this group already, you should definitely come check us out and join in before the event gets here. It's gonna be a blast!
