Thank you so much for the ask! I'll be posting drabble prompt 110 here, but I'll tag you when I complete prompt 140 later in a separate post! Anywho, here's this really fluffy and wholesome drabble I came up for the prompt about 15 years into the future of my canon!
ships: Kim x Honey, Nick x Sam
“Quit Stalling. Where’s your father?”
Kim asked her oldest daughter before her, a little tired of her attempts of keeping her from walking into the old household in rural Montana.
Avi Rye took a quick once over behind her mother seeing her younger sister Carmina making fast signals with her hands that her dads and step mom were not done with the surprise yet.
“Oh come on mom, you know I’m not stalling, I just want to know how ‘ya been, you guys only come around the holidays anymore!”
“Avi, you know I video call you guys at least once or twice every two weeks I-”
Before Kim could let out the rest of her sentence, a loud clatter of metal hitting the floor came from the house behind her oldest was blocking. Avi sporting a nervous smile at her mom to play off the noise as if it were nothing.
Kim let out a soft sigh, knowing she wouldn’t give up easily, she turned to Carmina who also had a sneaky nervous grin on her face.
Kim let out a giggle. “Oh so you’re both in on this, huh?”
Finally, after what seemed like hours, Kim’s wife peaked her head out of the door right behind Avi.
“Alright ladies, you can come in now.” Honey let out a huff, she was rather disgruntled dealing with the Hope County buffoons.
Avi and Carmina grabbed Kim by the arms excitedly and walked her into the door, both were grinning from ear to ear.
Before Kim could even register what she was looking at, she heard a loud calling from the kitchen.
It was Kim’s birthday, and while she was a little suspect with all the secrecy in her big family today, she was still absolutely shocked by the surprise.
Kim couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at the sight. Her wife Honey holding a little confetti dispenser, Boomer licking up what looks to be a pan that once held pie for the party in it,
So that’s what hit the floor. she thought to herself, smiling.
and finally, Nick and Sam covered in cake toppings and frosting while holding the cake in their hands, still burning the candles on top.
She heard Carmina and Avi giggling in the background, taking little photos of everything to post to their social media later no doubt.
“Awww you guys,” Kim looked to everyone, ecstatic for the wonderful surprise they had given her. All the while, Honey makes her way by Kim’s side again. “You didn’t have to do all this for me!”
“Of course we did! It’s your special day, how could we not!” Sam exclaims happily looking to Nick next.
“Now blow out the candles and make a wish so we can put this damn thing down.” Nick joked.
Kim closed her eyes, and blew out the candles with a huff.
Sam, knowing how clumsy Nick can be with cakes from previous birthdays, took the cake fully into his hands and placed it on the kitchen counter. Giving Nick a little elbowing in the side to signal to help clean up after the pie he dropped earlier that Boomer was still consuming.
Having a moment to themselves, Kim turned to Honey, who had a wicked grin on her face.
“How long have you guys had this planned?”
Honey gave a little squint and deadpanned. “Oh, you know...about a month, and yet we all still were hilariously unprepared.” Making a note to avert her eyes to the mess Nick and Sam had made of the place making all the cake and snacks.
“I kind of like the unprepared version better y’know? It’s a lot more memorable.” Kim said lovingly, locking her arms around her wife for a tight hug.
The two women broke the hug a little to sit and hold each other, looking into one another's eyes.
“So…” Honey began. “What did you wish for?”
“Nothing actually," Kim began, earning a slightly confused head tilt from Honey. "I have everything I’ve ever wanted and more, right here.” Kim smiled deeply, and dipped her head in for a quick kiss with Honey.
