I'm curious, what's your WIP's aesthetic?

Hi Toris, what a lovely surprise to get this question right as I'm editing my Unsplash collection.

If you want to take a look at the sort of general aesthetic I'm going for: this is the link.

I tend to go for warm, sunlight-filled pictures and also pictures with a lot of nature because this is my 'get inspired' collection for writing Dewdrop's territory.

My WIP is a hopeful and weird/whimsical story, so the aesthetics I'm incorporating are supposed to enhance that feeling of wonder and otherworldliness. But as for an in-universe reason for this aesthetic choice, Dewdrop shapes their own territory based on their happiest memories (aka memories of Sunflare) hence the bright colours and light.

If I had to use a couple of key words to describe the aesthetic: sunlight, warmth, plums, golden hour, flower fields and even more plums.

What doesn't Jade realize is important to them? What would they miss if something or someone in their life suddenly disappeared?

I guess the answer here is pretty simple, if clichéd. Jade doesn't realize how much a certain vampire means to her until she sees him about to get his head chopped off.

I should have answered this a year ago, I want to and will answer them all! I swear! *Tosses apologies* Thank you so much for the compliment, I love that you love my blog, even if I’m terrible at answering things in a timely manner XD So your title gives me either Avatar kind of vibes, Infinity Stones kind of vibes or mythology kind of vibes, all up there in the fantasy genre, so my bad guesses:

1. A fantasy world where people think there are only 4 basic elements of magic: Earth, water, fire and air; but actually, there are 7. Across the globe, there is only ever one person capable of wielding each element, that is: one for fire, one for earth, one for water, one for air... and for centuries, they’ve hoarded that power and ruled with an iron fist, until 3 ancient lost elements are discovered... and their wielders have no problem teaching their (much darker) magics to others and taking the original elemental powers back by force for the people. (This turned out a messier guess than I meant so it makes less sense than I was trying for but anyway)

2. The world [protagonist] is from is ending in a blaze, and their society, their neighbours, their friends are all just sitting back and letting it happen, but [protagonist] isn’t willing to give up that easily. Legend tells of seven stones, hidden throughout the world-fairy tales, some say-that have the power of great change and control, great power of salvation, and they set out on a quest to find these. With a ticking clock to doomsday and nothing but folklore to lead their way, they soon find themselves diving into an underground world of magic, myth and hope, ready to do anything to save their home. But maybe these powerful stones, these elementals... really are just legend.  

3. A great sorcerer, on a quest to master all 7 elements of magic, finds himself devolving deeper and deeper into madness as his search for the final element brings him into a darkness he couldn’t possibly imagine

4. Greek mythology modern retelling of a group of 7 nymphs (dryads, naiads, wood nymphs,water nymphs, cloud nymphs, etc.) setting out together and joining forces on a quest to save their respective homes.

I have no idea honestly, I had a better guess earlier that I forgot, but I am intrigued to know what it’s really about!

has anyone written about/talked on an AU of Goblet of Fire where Draco was taken instead of Ron?

So, I personally haven’t read a fic like that, but I looked on ao3 and here’s what I found:Meeting under the Moonlight by Perrygrace9Summary: Harry’s relatively good summer becomes better when he is invited to the Quidditch World Cup by the Weasleys, where he saves a blond haired, grey-eyed handsome boy during the death eater riots. Things go downhill from there when Harry is chosen as a champion for a deadly tournament. Good thing, that the same beautiful teen is ready to save Harry in more than one way.Meanwhile, Draco Lucius Malfoy, a prodigy and heartthrob of Beauxbaton Academy of magic, is in no way ready to miss the only chance of witnessing the tournament of the century because of some stupid age bar. And if it means working hard to get the post of the ‘Student Representative for International Magical cooperation’, then he’ll do it. Good thing he is a prodigy and a Malfoy. But what happens when he develops a crush on a certain green-eyed champion? Or worse, what happens when he turns out to be Harry Potter?This one doesn’t specifically say that Draco will be taken instead of Ron, but after reading the description, I guess it’s going there? 😂 (This is still a WIP and unfinished it seems)

PBG was so quick getting over Hana in Jared's route, so I can imagine him getting a small crush on Paul around the same time as Hana crushing on Mai and them helping each other out as best friends

but also just pbg & hana awkwardly coming out to each other & trying to figure things out together. bc this is absolutely pbg’s first crush on a boy, and probably hana’s first crush on a girl. they support each other through it all & give the other plenty of advice on how to make it work. hana is clear-headed and thoughtful, while pbg has known mai quite a bit longer than hana has & knows what she should do to make her swoon.

Vamps can have wings!

So, usually Caz flies by turning into an animal like a bat. But he also can float in the air by spreading his atoms and decreasing his weight. Jade asks him why he can’t fly just by doing that, and he points out he can’t steer as easily unless his body undergoes another transformation, one he usually prefers not to do.

Eventually, he does show her. Vampires hands can grow and spread and skin can grow from their arms and hips until they have translucent wings unfolding from their bodies. Caz hates it, in part because he finds it makes him even more monstrous, but Jade is fascinated.

I am adding this element in my second draft, after realizing the floating in the air thing wouldn’t work out well as a form of transport, and I’m just loving the idea of it, especially with Jade appreciating this form of Caz so much.
