Yo! I’m not dead, have some more Vampires art…of the rp blog variety. My lovely friends over at @residents-of-oakhurst @avidhunt and myself @detective-drift have been having fun…just ignore the fact I didn’t post these pieces and the masquerade event is LONG over.

But yeah! Not dead, Lotus never dies. Trust me.

Avid is standing on the bridge.

It's raining out. Cold, dark, miserable--the rain pelts his shoulders, and he stands there in the clothes he was wearing when he was killed. Blood stains them. There are tears in his shirt where claws and stakes tore through it. Patches of dark, mottled skin curve across his arm and down his hand. There is a stripe of it across his face, coming up under one eye and snaking across his nose. He's staring at the castle, waiting. Not hiding. Just waiting.

Waiting for somebody in particular, it seems. // @avidhunt

Drift sighs, at the very least at least she’s out of the castle. At least she managed to drag herself out of her room below it. There’s a lot of tiny victories that had followed her finally standing from where she had curled onto her bed with that note. Actually eating instead of letting guilt gnaw her into starvation.

So really the last thing the detective expects when she leaves the castle, walks out into a cold rain that matches the empty space in her chest. Out onto a bridge where she had figured out who she lost.

A bridge where…he’s standing? That can’t be right…she felt it. But he doesn’t look the same, yet it’s undoubtedly Avid. So it isn’t a wonder why her voice cracks when she whispers his name as she steps towards him slowly.

so in the vsmp rp community, these two organized an epic event for Halloween eve; a masquerade ball at the vampire manor :3 theres a post w/ a list of everyone who's participating so its SUPER easy to find people to bug interact w/ + it was also super fun to find outfits for my characters :33 avidhunt is also reblogging all the outfits, moodboards, art, etc for the event and i love scrolling thru the blog to find beautiful outfits & characters to bother :3

its only been abt 9-10 hrs since the event started & most participants including me spent part of that asleep since it started late at night but I'm having so much fun already :3333

The night of the Oakhurst All Hallow's Eve Masquerade was coming to a close, however before it did, Shelby had to make one final announcement for the night before folks were allowed to disperse and leave. Making her way up onto the stage one final time for the night, a smile making its way onto her face once more as she looked around the ballroom. "Good evening everyone, it is with a heavy conscience that I must announce that this year's Masquerade is coming to a close... I know I wish it could go on forever... But I am hopeful that the memories, the friendships and... relationships that were forged here tonight will continue to grow and flourish." Her gaze flickered to her cohost, @avidhunt for a moment before flickering back to the crowd; if her face looked a little flush it was just the lighting. Gathering her skirts, she gave a curtsy but stayed in that position for awhile before standing up straight once more.

"This night would not be possible without all of you! So thank you again so much for everything and thank you so much for all the effort and taking time to come to our masquerade tonight. I wish you all a wonderful rest of your night and please take care!" With that, Shelby moved to leave the stage as the orchestra started up again for the final time tonight.

Do not worry about threads taking place during the masquerade now that it's over, you can continue those until you reach an appropriate conclusion or end to the interaction.

Hands shaking, the hunter stands alone. It's bold of him to come here, like this. Eyes dark, sounding far braver than he feels, Avid says, "I'll only warn you once, Owen." He adjusts his grip on his stake. His palms sweat. "You leave Drift alone. You hear me?"

In the early hours of the morning after the masquerade, Avid comes... well, not skulking, or sneaking, or anything secretive--but he comes to Drift's room like a dog with its tail between its legs, feeling strangely... guilty? He knocks on the door frame.

"Drift," he says, "do you, um, do you have a minute?" // from @avidhunt :]

Drift hums, looking up at Avid from her place sat on the bed. She doesn’t really need it as much as she used to but it’s a nice comfort. The detective fidgeting with her mask from the night before idly as she looks at him. “Yeah…yeah I always have time for you, bud”

🔭 Shelby had been in the middle of grabbing a book from the library when the bat asked the question, a squeak left her as her face slowly and steadily began to get red. The book she had been grabbing slipped from her fingers and hit the floor with a ‘thunk’. Her hair somewhat puffing up a bit more than usual in her flustered state. “I-I- I mean- who- who doesn’t think he’s attractive? When I first met him, I uh… I thought he was cute. His bright purple eyes that shone with excitement and energy when he spoke. H-had this sort of boyish charm about him? Especially- Uhm- especially when he grinned. Sure it sometimes had a nervous air about it, but-“ she was trying to find her words but was failing as she felt her face getting redder with each word that she spoke. Her bat ears fluttered atop her head, as she brought her hands to try and cover her face; slipping them up under her glasses. Of course her honey gold hues were still visible between her fingers.

“I… Yes, I do think he’s attractive that- that was the question right? Nothing- nothing else that I just said?”

Wandering around the ballroom, looking for Shelby, Celine manages to spot them!

"Hello there, are you Shelby? I've heard something quite intriguing," handing them a note that @bat-news had thrown on the ground reading:

'Do you think that the cohosts will confess to one another? Because everyone can clearly see they're infatuated by each other.'

"I'm just curious, do you have feelings for Avid?"

The vampiress had been in the middle of making her rounds when she was approached by the other, blinking slightly from behind her mask. She was about to answer them that she was in fact Shelby, but then they handed her a note and asked her if she had feelings for Avid. Her eyes widened behind her mask, thank goodness she hadn't drank anything recently because her face would be as red as the roses on her outfit. The note immediately was crumpled even more in her hands from how tightly she was holding it as a squeak escaped her. "W-Wha- W-Wait- Let's- Let's just roll back for a second there- Okay? Uhm, yes, Hi I am Shelby. It's nice to make your acquaintance and I'm glad you could make it to the masquerade..." She started, but then when it came to the other thing they had asked, she was at a loss for words. Her bat ears sticking up out of her hair and just fluttering as if it would somehow help her.

"I-I uhm- I have to excuse myself-"

With that, she was quick to turn on her heel and disappear into the crowd. Her mind raising as she quickly weaved through the bodies of people, had she still been alive, her heart would have been beating hard and the fluttering of butterflies in the pit of her stomach would had tried to escape as the question repeated itself over and over in her head. 'Did she have feelings for Avid?' And... she knew what the answer was.
