When saying that they don't like that some chassidus' have an 'anti- intellectual' approach has fundamentally misunderstood the point. You learn Torah not because you want to, but bc that's how to get closer to Hashem. Everything we do is for that, and one should actually feel it. And the uneducated person in the stories having a deeper connection makes sense, bc their connection is not crowded by their own ego and knowledge, no matter what the knowledge is.

Its not about not learning Torah, its about doing so for the right reasons

(Obvously not to say that you can't learn bc you want to, by the poibt of learning at all is an essence to 'understand' Hashem to an extent and get closer to Him please don't kill me)
