The concept of Jack Duquesne (played by a Mexican actor) beating up the AVTF (not so subtle allegory for ICE) is ✨️chef kisses✨️
Even with Fisk enabling the AVTF, how are the AVTF not facing severe backlash on social media and even the traditional press, and protesters outside City Hall calling for these guys' arrests?
Take for instance, when Powell punches the Greek restaurant owner. In reality, there would probably be several people recording with their phones and posting videos captioned "Task Force Cop Attacks Defenseless Woman" and "Thin-Skinned Police Officer Punches Woman For Talking Back to Him".
Or, say, with the Task Force officer who arrests Angela's aunt and the bodega owner. No way there aren't videos of that plastered all over the Internet titled "Police Officer Arrests Store Owner For Defending His Store" and "Cop Arrests Woman for Touching his Shoulder".
And it would be impossible for Fisk to bury viral videos of his task force agents beating up defenseless people or arresting them on dubious or bogus grounds.
If anything, these AVTF cops should know better than to engage in such acts of brutality in public in an era where everyone has a smartphone, as these acts run counter to the benevolent image of the task force that Fisk's propaganda is painting. Even the corrupt cops Fisk was paying in season 1 of the old show (like Detectives Blake and Hoffman) knew the importance of hiding their corruption and only engaging in unlawful behavior where it could be swept under the rug. And that's with him paying Internal Affairs off to quash misconduct investigations.
