prompt #108
“Fuck you.”
The supervillain curls a hand under their chin, lips pulling into a sly smirk. “Are you offering? Because you know I’d say yes.”
prompt #107
“You did good.”
The villain’s sidekick feels a hitch in their breath. Their head snaps up, like they weren’t even sure they heard the words correctly. Their eyes glimmer with something akin to shock and hesitance.
“I...I did?” They squeak.
The villain pretends to shuffle through a file, eyes glued to the words but not really reading them.
“You deaf?” the villain scoffs. “Hurry up and get out of my office.”
The sidekick blanches, scrambling to bow their head. As they turn to leave, the villain lifts their gaze, watching them close the door behind them with a giddy, elated little grin on their face.
Their eyes crinkle with a subtle, fond smile.
prompt #103
“How was I supposed to know you loved me?”
The villain raised an arched brow at them in disbelief. “It was obvious.”
“You threw me off a fifteen story building the other week alone.”
“In the name of love.”
prompt #102
“It must be suffocating,” the villain hummed, a fine whisper on their tongue and their fingers dancing a waltz through their hair. Soft strands curled around their finger, an absentminded and thoughtless movement.
They leaned down to kiss their temple, a chaste little thing that barely stirred the hero awake. Tucked against them as though they were lovers, as though this wasn’t a dangerously deceptive painting of their relationship.
“But that’s okay,” they whispered, patting the hero’s cheek. “I’ll take you away. From everything.”
prompt #104
“So we’re skipping the niceties now?” The hero hums under her breath, a terseness to her jaw as she’s spun around once more. The music swells dramatically for the climax of the song, meeting the villain’s eyes through the slits of the mask.
“Whatever do you mean?” She purrs, arm purposely closed around her waist so they’re dancing impossibly close to one another.
Masquerade or not, the hero recognises the villain. And in turn, she knows the villain recognises her.
“Let’s not beat around the bush,” she frowns. “You know who I am. Why are you here?”
The villain laughs. It’s almost as entrancing as the music itself, the swell of strings concocting jaunty chords. Her perfume feels almost suffocating, hand in hers and legs dancing smoothly around each other. Everyone else seems like a blur, only focused on the woman in front of her.
“For you, of course,” the villain whispers by her ear, hand dragging along her hip until her fingers dig into the seams. “I wondered if by the end of the night, I might see what you look like without this gorgeous dress.”
prompt #64
“I don’t feel so good,” the hero whispers, a thickness lying in their breathy confession. Their trembling fingers dig into the tablecloth, but it’s hardly enough to keep them from wobbling.
Supervillain barely spares them a glance from beyond the table. Through their rapidly blurring vision, the hero can see they’re still eating.
“I know,” the supervillain simply replies, and the hero shakily rises to their feet. They struggle to do so, a horrible vertigo slamming into them. Everything spins.
Their tongue feels like cotton as they attempt to speak.
“This was,” they suck in a trembling breath. Their legs buckle from underneath them as they stagger backwards,” was supposed to be...a diplomatic, um, s’not...”
“Come on, darling,” the supervillain speaks, dabbing a napkin along the corner of their mouth. “You’re going to have to speak clearly, I can hardly understand a word you’re saying. Perhaps you’ve had too much wine.”
The hero sinks down to the floor. They suck in a tight gasp. “You drugged it...”
“Give me a little more credit,” the supervillain purrs, lip curved into a subtle smirk. “I drugged the ice.”
prompt #70
“I’m only going to ask this once.”
The villain aims the gun at their thigh, and pulls the trigger. The sidekick doesn’t register the ear shattering bang from the gun, too overwhelmed by the white agony that exploded in their leg, a dying scream ripping through their throat.
“Where’s Hero?” the villains asks calmly.
The sidekick can just barely grit their teeth and muster up a glowering glare. “I’m not telling you anything, you miserable—”
A boot comes crushing down on the bullet wound, rivulets of blood pooling along the ground. The sidekick’s head thuds against the ground, stars popping in their vision.
The villain reloads their gun. “Think very carefully before you finish that sentence.”
prompt #63
“I hate you,” the hero whispers, the words like fire on their tongue. They cling desperately onto the villain’s shoulders, fingers winding through the fabric until they are shaking. Every touch along their body makes their skin sing.
“Is that why you’re kissing me?” the villain answers back sharply, their voice just as breathless as the hero clashes their lips together again. It’s a messy plethora of gasps and tugs of fabric, and it’s making them go dizzy with the heat. The villain draws their hands down their back, igniting that passionate hate the hero doesn’t know what to do with.
The villain’s voice is hushed against their lips. “Just once?”
The implication hangs heavy in the air, and they can barely even wrap their head around the severity of what they’re doing. But they need an outlet. They need a way to show them how passionately they hate them.
The hero nods, nipping at their bottom lip.
“Just once,” they breathe.
