I think after Baldur’s Gate is saved Zafyna would see Naadja is deliberating on what to do with this future she's made for herself. She'd be terrified of being left behind again and basically say "Im going back to Menzobarranzan but I can't go without you." And she means dead or alive.

And meanwhile Minthara is offering her house to Naadja and Astarion is going to take charge of the spawn so Naadja of course is going back, Zafyna just doesn't know it yet.
